MEDIA ALERT
MAINLANE CLOSURES FOR THE I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE RECONSTRUCTION
(Houston, Texas)--Starting Wednesday, October 1 the northbound shoulder of I-610 between just south of Post Oak Blvd. and I-10 will be under construction as the first phase of work begins on the I-10/I-610 Interchange reconstruction. The existing shoulder is being rebuilt to serve as a mainlane for eventual traffic shifts to happen as part of the interchange reconstruction. The contractor will begin working on the south end of the project working north and will close one outside lane of traffic beginning Wednesday at 9:00 pm to 5:00 am nightly during the week and around the clock on the weekend (9:00 pm Friday until 5:00 am Monday). The contractor anticipates that the shoulder work should be completed within 7 to 10 day barring no inclement weather delays. The completion of the shoulder work will be marked by the transition of mainlane traffic to the east in this area of I-610 to allow for a construction zone for the new southbound mainlanes and frontage roads.
