Multiple Contract Closures This Weekend

MULTIPLE CONTRACT CLOSURES ALONG I-10/KATY FREEEWAY STARTING TONIGHT
(Houston, Texas)--This weekend starting at 7 p.m. Friday, November 7 until 5 a.m. Monday, alternate lanes of I-10/Katy Freeway will be closed between Barker Cypress and Fry Road. Freeway traffic just west of Barker Cypress will be temporarily detoured around construction as contractors complete the drainage culvert installations across the freeway. The contractor will close two lanes at a time, working from the north side of the freeway to south side. A minimum of two lanes of traffic in each direction will remain open throughout the weekend.
Also tonight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday, contractors working on the I-10/I-610 Interchange are scheduled to close one left lane of the direct connector from I-10 westbound to I-610 northbound and totally close the direct connector from I-10 eastbound to I-610 northbound (traffic will be detoured to exit I-610 southbound and U-turn at Woodway to proceed to I-610 northbound.)
Provided below is a "look ahead" listing next week's major closings for the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program.
MAJOR CLOSURES FOR THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 10, 2003
• Two alternate lanes will be closed on I-610 northbound between Memorial and US 290 Monday, November 10 and Tuesday, November 11 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Two alternate lanes will be closed nightly on I-610 southbound between US 290 and San Felipe Monday, November 10 through Thursday, November 13 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• The I-610 southbound frontage road will be closed between Woodway and Post Oak starting at 9 p.m. Friday, November 14 through 5 a.m. Monday, November 17.
