Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures

I-10/KATY FREEWAY CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENTS
(Houston, TX) -- The Houston District of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is pleased to announce that contractors on both the east and west ends of the I-10/Katy Freeway are making great progress in the reconstruction of the freeway. The construction contractors are working diligently to stay on-target with their very aggressive, fast-paced schedules and are on track to finish according to schedule and meeting interim milestones. Accordingly, due to on-going construction, drivers should expect delays while traveling on the I-10/Katy Freeway due to multiple lane closures for the reconstruction of the freeway. Provided below is a list of the scheduled closures for the upcoming week pending no inclement weather delays.
CONTRACT A (BETWEEN SH 99 AND HARRIS-FORT BEND COUNTY LINE) CLOSURES
• Effective Monday, January 26 the I-10 westbound entrance ramp west of Katy-Fort Bend Road will be closed until further notice.
CONTRACT B (BETWEEN SH 99 AND SH 6) CLOSURES
• Effective Tuesday, January 27 portions of the existing westbound frontage between SH 99 and SH 6 will be permanently closed as the contractor shifts traffic on to the new westbound frontage roads. (Drivers will be detoured onto the new pavement upon exiting the freeway. Access to Barker Cypress, Fry and Mason will be accommodated by detour from the new frontage unto the existing frontage at the major intersections. Signage will be provided to direct drivers as they navigate the new frontage road.)
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• Alternate lanes of the north and southbound frontage roads of I-610 between US 290 and San Felipe will be closed daily from 9 AM to 3 AM beginning Friday, January 23 until further notice.
• The outside lanes east and westbound on Post Oak, Woodway and Memorial will be close daily 9 AM to 3 PM beginning Friday, January 23 until further notice. (Continued from last week.)
• Alternate lanes of Old Katy Road between Silber and Washington will be closed daily from 9 AM to 3 PM beginning Friday, January 23 until further notice.
• Effective Tuesday, January 27 the left lane of Old Katy Road eastbound at I-610 will be closed until further notice.
• Effective Tuesday, January 27 the left turn lane of the I-610 southbound frontage road at Old Katy Road will be closed until Wednesday, January 28.
