Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures

FREEWAY CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENTS

(Houston, Texas) - Drivers should expect delays while traveling on the I-10/Katy Freeway over the course of next week due to multiple lane closures for the reconstruction of the freeway. A list of the scheduled closures pending inclement weather delays is provided below.

CONTRACT A (BETWEEN HARRIS-FORT BEND COUNTY LINE AND SH 99)

• Starting Sunday, March 7 through Friday, March 12, one left lane of the westbound mainlanes of I-10/Katy Freeway between Mason and Pin Oak will be closed nightly from 7 PM to 5 AM.

CONTRACT B (BETWEEN SH 99 AND SH 6) CLOSURES

• The two right lanes of the eastbound mainlanes of I-10/Katy Freeway between Barker Cypress and SH 6 will be closed Friday, March 5 from 9 PM to 5 AM Saturday.


CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES

• The right lane of the direct connector from I-610 northbound to I-10 westbound was permanently closed Thursday, March 4, 2004. The lane was closed to reduce congestion where northbound and southbound traffic from I-610 merges to connect to I-10 westbound.

• Starting Monday, March 8 through Friday, March 12, the I-610 southbound exit ramp to Post Oak and the I-610/Post Oak intersection will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 5AM.

• The left lane of the frontage road of I-610 southbound between Uptown Park and Post Oak will be closed nightly beginning March 8 through March 12 from 9 PM to 5 AM.

• The left lane of the frontage road of I-610 southbound between Old Katy Road exit and Old Katy Road, including the U-turn, will be closed continuously Tuesday, March 9 through Tuesday, March 16.
