Katy Freeway Program Closures
(Houston, Texas) - Drivers should expect delays while traveling along the I-10/Katy Freeway and the I-10/I-610 Interchange due to multiple lane closures for freeway reconstruction. Details regarding tonight's scheduled closures are provided below.
CONTRACT B (BETWEEN SH 99 AND SH 6) CLOSURES
Alternate lanes of the westbound mainlanes will be closed between Barker Cypress and Mason Road tonight, Wednesday, April 7 from 7 PM to 5 AM while the contractor performs the first shift of mainlane traffic in the west Houston area. Williams Brothers construction has completed the initial bridge construction for the new intersections at Westgreen and S. Greenhouse and will be switching mainlane traffic onto the new pavement to begin demolition of the existing pavement to complete bridge construction. Similar lanes closures will be required on April 12th when the contractor performs the traffic switch in the vicinity of S. Greenhouse.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
The right lane of the I-610 southbound mainlanes from the Post Oak exit ramp to San Felipe* will be closed tonight, April 7 and Thursday night, April 8 from 9 PM to 5 AM for the contractor to pour the new Post Oak Overpass bridge deck. Simultaneously, the intersection of Post Oak at I-610 will be closed. Eastbound Post Oak traffic will be detoured to the southbound frontage road to San Felipe to make a U-turn. Westbound Post Oak traffic will be detoured to the northbound frontage road and directed to the U-turn at Wooday Memorial.
