Upcoming I-10 and I-610 Closures

I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE RECONSTRUCTION TIES-INWITH WEST LOOP SOUTHBOUND RECONSTRUCTION
"Drivers Should Expect Delays and Take Alternate Routes the Weekend of July 30th"
(Houston, Texas) – The I-10/I-610 Interchange reconstruction is progressing on-schedule. Over the course of the next ten days the contractor has scheduled multiple lanes closures along I-10 and I-610 to complete work related to major contract milestones. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to take alternate routes where possible. A list of the scheduled closures for this weekend and for the upcoming week is provided below.
• Starting tonight, July 23 through Sunday, July 25 the intersection of San Felipe at I-610 will be closed nightly from 9 PM until 5 AM. Eastbound San Felipe traffic will be detoured to Westhiemer and westbound traffic will be detoured to Post Oak.
• The left lane of the I-10 westbound mainlanes between North Post Oak and Silber will be closed beginning 9 PM Friday, July 23 until 9 PM Saturday, July 24.
• Saturday, July 24 the I-10 HOV lane will be closed. The HOV lane will be re-opened to inbound traffic on Sunday from SH 6 to North Post Oak. Effective 5 AM, Monday, July 26 the HOV lane will be restored to normal operation from SH 6 to the eastern limits just west of Washington Avenue.
CLOSURES FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 26, 2004
• Alternate lanes of the I-10 westbound mainlanes between North Post Oak and Silber will be closed nightly starting Monday, July 26 through Thursday, July 29 from 9 PM to 5 AM.
• In coordination with the opening of the new I-610/West Loop southbound mainlanes, I-610 between I-10 and US 59 will be closed effective 9 PM, Friday, July 30 until 12 Noon, Sunday, August 1 to complete work for the major traffic switch onto to new pavement. All I-610 southbound traffic will be detoured onto the I-610 southbound frontage roads at Woodway and Post Oak. Simultaneously, the I-10 eastbound and westbound direct connectors to I-610 southbound will be closed. Traffic will be detoured to I-610 northbound to 18th Street and U-turn to I-610/West Loop southbound.
• Also on Saturday, July 31 the left lane of the I-610 northbound mainlanes will be closed from 5 AM to 9 PM.
