Upcoming I-10 Closures

UPCOMING CLOSURES ON KATY FREEWAY
"Drivers are Encouraged to Consider Alternate Routes"
(Houston, Texas) -- Drivers should expect delays while traveling on the I-10/Katy Freeway over the course of the next two weekends due to scheduled lane closures for the reconstruction of the freeway. Drivers are encouraged to consider alternate travel routes to avoid delays where feasible. A list of the scheduled closures is provided below.
CONTRACT A (BETWEEN SH 99 AND SH 6) CLOSURES
• Alternate lanes of the I-10 westbound mainlanes between Mason and Katy-Fort Bend Road will be closed beginning Friday, August 20 at 7 PM until 5 AM Saturday, August 21 as the contractor shifts traffic south to begin construction of the new westbound mainlanes.
• Effective Friday, August 27 at 9 PM the I-10 westbound frontage road ramp to SH 99 will be closed until further notice. I-10 westbound traffic to SH 99 will be detoured via the new I-10 westbound frontage road to turn right onto the newly constructed SH 99 frontage road (just west of the existing SH 99 overpass) to turn right again onto Mercantile Parkway to access SH 99 northbound and southbound. CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• Saturday, August 21 at 5 AM until 9 PM, the mainlanes of I-10 eastbound (including the HOV) between Silber and I-610 will be closed to allow William Brothers Construction the opportunity to place bridge beams for the new North Post Oak Bridge. I-10 eastbound traffic will be detoured via the I-610 North and South direct connectors. • The remaining beams which will span over the westbound mainlanes are scheduled to be installed next Saturday, August 28, at which time the mainlanes of I-10 westbound will be closed from 5 AM until 9 PM. More details regarding this closure and the designated detours will be advertised in the upcoming week.
