FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE...
CLOSURE OF I-10 EASTBOUND BETWEEN SILBER & I-610
"Drivers are Strongly Encouraged to Consider Alternate Routes"
(Houston, Texas) – The mainlanes of I-10 eastbound between Silber and I-610, including the HOV and the I-10 eastbound to I-610 northbound and southbound direct connectors, will be closed beginning at 9 PM Friday, August 27 until 6 PM, Saturday, August 28. The closure is required for William Brothers Construction to place bridge beams for the new North Post Oak Bridge. Due to the complexity of the work to be performed and the broad work area required, detour options will be limited and drivers are strongly encouraged to use alternate travel routes to avoid delays where feasible. A single express lane immediately north of the work zone will be provided for I-10 eastbound traffic. The designated detour options for traffic destined to I-610 northbound and southbound are listed below.
• From the I-10 eastbound express lane exit at Washington Avenue and make a U-turn to access the I-10 westbound to I-610 northbound and southbound direct connectors.
• Take the Silber exit ramp from I-10 eastbound to use the I-10 eastbound frontage to proceed to the intersection at North Post Oak.
1. I-610 southbound traffic can then turn right and proceed though the Memorial and Woodway intersections to utilize the Woodway entrance ramp from the I-610 southbound frontage road.
2. Traffic to I-610 northbound can turn left onto North Post Oak and proceed to Old Katy Road to make a right to access I-610 north via the northbound frontage.
