Closure Update
Wednesday, Aug 25th, 2004
Please note the following changes & additions to this week's list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program through Sunday, August 29, 2004 (CHANGES INDICATED BY PARENTHESIS AND CAPITAL LETTERS.)
CONTRACT A CLOSURES BETWEEN HARRIS-FORT BEND COUNTY LINE AND SH 99
• Effective Friday, August 27 at 9 AM the I-10 westbound frontage road ramp to SH 99 will be closed until further notice. I-10 westbound traffic to SH 99 will be detoured via the new I-10 westbound frontage road to turn right onto the newly constructed SH 99 frontage road (just west of the existing SH 99 overpass) to turn right again onto Mercantile Parkway to access SH 99 northbound and southbound. CONTRACT B BETWEEN SH 99 AND SH 6
• Alternate lanes of the I-10 eastbound mainlanes between Fry and Barker Cypress will be closed Wednesday, August 25 from 7 PM until 5 AM Thursday, August 26. (POSTPONED NOW SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 26)
• Effective Thursday morning, August 26 the new I-10 eastbound entrance ramp from Fry Road and the new exit ramp to Barker Cypress will be opened. (POSTPONED NOW SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY, AUGUST 28)
• Alternate lanes of the I-10 westbound mainlanes between Barker Cypress and Fry will be closed Friday, August 27 from 7 PM until 5 AM Saturday, August 28. (POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE)
CONTRACT F CLOSURES I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE
• The mainlanes of I-10 eastbound between Silber and I-610, including the HOV and the I-10 eastbound to I-610 direct connectors, will be closed beginning Friday, August 27 at 9 PM until 6 PM, Saturday, August 28. Due to the complexity of the work to be performed detour options will be limited and drivers are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes. • Two left lanes of I-610 northbound between San Felipe and Woodway will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM, Tuesday, August 24 through Friday, August 27.
• The left lane of I-610 northbound between San Felipe and Woodway will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM, Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30.
