I-10 Mainlane and Direct Connector Closures

WILLIAMS BROTHERS TO ERECT BEAMS FOR THE NEW NORTH POST OAK BRIDGE
"Due to Scheduled Closures for I-10 Eastbound and Westbound
Drivers are Strongly Encouraged to Consider Alternate Routes"
(Houston)- Tonight, Friday, August 27 at 9 PM William Brothers (WB) Construction will begin erecting bridge beams over the mainlanes of I-10 for the new North Post Oak Bridge as a part of the I-10/I-610 Interchange reconstruction. In order to perform the first phase of the work over the mainlanes, I-10 eastbound between Silber and I-610 will be closed from 9 PM Friday, August 27 until 6 PM, Saturday, August 28. Due to the complexity of the work to be performed and the broad work area required, detour options will be limited and drivers are strongly encouraged to use alternate travel routes to avoid delays where feasible. A single express lane immediately north of the work zone will be provided for I-10 eastbound traffic. Traffic designated to I-610 northbound and southbound will need to exit at Silber and follow the detour via the I-10 eastbound frontage road. To avoid having to close the westbound mainlanes over the Labor Day Weekend, the contractor will erect the beams on the westbound side of I-10 over the course of three consecutive nights, beginning Tuesday, August 31. To perform this second phase of the work, WB will close all lanes of I-10 westbound, between Washington Avenue and Silber, and the direct connectors from I-610 northbound and southbound to I-10 westbound. The consecutive nighttime closures will be from 8:30 PM to 5:30 AM Tuesday, August 31 through Thursday, September 3. Traffic from I-10 westbound will be detoured via Washington Avenue to Old Katy Road to proceed to the new I-10 westbound frontage road to re-enter the mainlanes of I-10 just west of Silber. I-610 northbound and southbound traffic destined for I-10 westbound will be detoured via the I-10 eastbound direct connector to exit at Washington and make a left to follow the detour above.
