I-610 SOUTHBOUND TO I-10 EASTBOUND DIRECT CONNECTOR CLOSED DECEMBER 8 – 23, 2004
(Houston, Texas) – Effective Wednesday, December 8 at 9 PM the I-610/West Loop southbound direct connector ramp to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound will be closed until 5 AM, Thursday, December 23, 2004. The closure of the ramp marks the beginning of Williams Brothers next milestone for the I-10/I-610 Interchange reconstruction. Accordingly, the contractor has a maximum of 24 days to complete the related work, with the potential of collecting a $5,000 per day incentive (up to $50,000) for every day completed early.
While the ramp is closed, I-610 southbound motorist destined to I-10 eastbound will have two detour options to access I-10 eastbound: 1) exit to I-10 westbound and u-turn at Wirt, or 2) remain on I-610 southbound to exit Post Oak and turn back north to access the I-610 northbound to I-10 eastbound direct connector ramp.
