Driving Safety Concerns Along Old Katy Road
Tuesday, Feb 22nd, 2005
As many of you are aware, this past Saturday, February 19, Old Katy Road between Campbell and Gessner was permanently switched from a two-way facility to ONE-WAY WESTBOUND ONLY. Over the course of the last few days it has come to our attention that several motorists are not alert to the fact that the lane configuration has changed and they have failed to pay attention to the posted traffic signs. Please assist us with communicating to the masses by letting those around you know about the traffic changes and to encourage all drivers to do their part to help make the work zones along the Katy Freeway safer.
We all have a part in making the work zones safer. Some driving tips which help make work zones safer for motorists and workers include:
1) Slow Down
2) Pay Attention
3) Be Patient
"Studies have found that the two most common reasons for work zone crashes are speeding and inattention to driving."
