FRY ROAD UNDER I-10 IS NOW OPEN

THE NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND LANES OF FRY ROAD UNDER I-10 ARE NOW OPEN
(Houston)--Williams Brother Construction successfully completed their milestone to restore cross-corridor traffic at Fry Road effective as of 7 PM yesterday evening, March 24. The Fry Road bridge over I-10 was taken out of service on January 11th and the contractor had a total of 109 days in which to re-store north/south travel at Fry Road. Additionally the contractor had an incentive of receiving $50,000 per day for every day, up to 30 days, earlier than the 109 days allotted that they could get the intersection open. By completing the milestone early, motorists are able to benefit from the new northbound and southbound lanes under I-10 sooner than planned and the contractor will collect the maximum incentive of $1.5 million.
