Reminder -- Opening of New I-610/West Loop SB Mainlane Bridge

PREPARING FOR THE OPENING OF THE NEW I-610/WEST LOOP SOUTHBOUND MAINLANES AT I-10/KATY FREEWAY

"Williams Brothers (WB) Construction Completes another Major Milestone of the I-10/I-610 Interchange Reconstruction Contract"

(Houston) – Thursday, May 26 the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will be opening the new I-610/West Loop southbound mainlane bridge at I-10/Katy Freeway. Additionally, when the new I-610 southbound mainlanes are open to traffic on Thursday morning, drivers from I-10 westbound and eastbound to I-610 southbound will once again have an option to exit Woodway. WB will be shifting the traffic onto the new pavement tonight, Wednesday, May 25. Multiple lane closures will be required in the vicinity of the I-10/I-610 Interchange in preparation of this major traffic switch and drivers should expect delays when driving through the area at night. A list of the upcoming closures related to the completion of this major contract milestone is provided below.

UPCOMING LANE CLOSURES IN THE VICINITY OF THE I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE

• Alternate lanes of I-610/West Loop from US 290 to I-10/KATY will be closed overnight from 9 PM Wednesday, May 25 until 5 AM Thursday, May 26. One lane will remain open.

• The I-610/West Loop southbound direct connector ramps to I-10 eastbound and westbound will be closed overnight from 9 PM Wednesday, May 25 until 5 AM Thursday, May 26. Detour to I-610 southbound to Post Oak and u-turn to I-610 northbound to access I-10 eastbound or westbound.

• The two inside lanes of I-610 northbound from I-10/KATY to US 290 will be closed overnight from 9 PM Wednesday, May 25 until 5 AM Thursday, May 26.

All closures are subject to change due to weather, emergency work, or other events.
