Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures |

Below is a list of the upcoming closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of August 5, 2005.
CONTRACT A (HARRIS-FORT BEND COUNTY LINE to SH 99) CLOSURES
• One inside lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road at KATY FORT BEND RD will be closed on Friday, August 5 from 7 AM to 5 PM and overnight from 9 PM, Friday, August 5 to 5 AM, Saturday, August 6.
• Alternate lanes of Katy Fort Bend Road northbound and southbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed on Friday, August 5 from 7 AM to 5 PM.
• Two inside lanes of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound at KATY FORT BEND RD will be closed overnight from 10 PM, Friday, August 5 to 5 AM, Saturday, August 6.
• There will be a total closure of KATY FORT BEND RD northbound and southbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY from 9 PM, Friday, August 5 to 5 AM, Saturday, August 6. Detour northbound to I-10 eastbound to SH 99 u-turn to I-10 westbound to Katy-Fort Bend Road; southbound detour to I-10 westbound to Pin Oak Road u-turn to I-10 eastbound to Katy-Fort Bend Road.
CONTRACT B (SH 99 to SH 6) CLOSURES
• The BARKER CYPRESS overpass northbound and southbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed continuously from 9 PM, Friday, August 5 to 5 PM, Saturday, August 6. Northbound detour to I-10 eastbound to Park Ten and u-turn to Barker Cypress; southbound detour to I-10 westbound to Greenhouse and u-turn to Barker Cypress.
CONTRACT D (I-10/Beltway 8 Interchange) CLOSURES
• There will be a total closure of WILCREST northbound and southbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY from 10 PM, Friday, August 5 to 5 AM, Sunday, August 7. Southbound detour to I-10 westbound to Kirkwood u-turn to I-10 eastbound; northbound detour to I-10 eastbound to the I-10/Beltway 8 intersection and turn back to I-10 westbound.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 AND I-610) CLOSURES
• There will be a total closure the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage at BUNKER HILL and the BUNKER HILL exit ramp from 9 PM, Friday, August 5 to 10 AM, Saturday, August 6. I-10 westbound frontage road traffic will be detoured onto the I-10 westbound mainlanes.
• Northbound and southbound BUNKER HILL from I-10/KATY FREEWAY to OLD KATY ROAD will be closed overnight from 9:00 PM, Friday, August 5 to 10 AM, Saturday August 6. Southbound detour to I-10 westbound to Gessner u-turn to I-10 eastbound; northbound detour to I-10 eastbound to Blalock u-turn to I-10 westbound.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound direct connector ramps to I-610/WEST LOOP southbound will be closed from 9 PM, Friday, August 5 to noon, Saturday, August 6. Detour to alternate parallel roadways.
• The outside lane of the I-610/WEST LOOP northbound frontage Road from POST OAK RD to BUFFALO BAYOU will be closed continuously until 3 PM, Tuesday, August 16.
• The inside lane of POST OAK eastbound at I-610/WEST LOOP will be closed continuously until 3 PM, Tuesday, August 16.

A Glimpse At Next Weekend's Work...
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 Interchange) CLOSURES
The I-10/I-610 Interchange contractor anticipates performing a major traffic switch on I-610 northbound between San Felipe and US 290 over the course of next weekend Friday, August 12 thru Monday, August 15. More details regarding the lanes closures and traffic impacts will be released on next week.
