Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures

Below is a list of this weekend's and other upcoming closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of August 19, 2005.
CONTRACT A (HARRIS-FORT BEND COUNTY LINE to SH 99) CLOSURES
• The outside lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound at KATY FORT BEND RD will be closed overnight from 7:00 PM, Friday, August 19 to 5:00 AM, Saturday, August 20.
• The inside lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound at KATY FORT BEND RD will be closed overnight from 7:00 PM, Saturday, August 20 to 5:00 AM, Sunday, August 21.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to Dairy Ashford) CLOSURES
• The reduction of lane capacity to two lanes in each direction on SH 6 northbound and southbound from PARK ROW to GRISBY has been delayed one week and is now scheduled to be effective Monday, August 29. All turning movements will be accessible when capacity is reduced; however dedicated turning lanes will not be provided. Motorists should expect delays and consider alternate routes when possible.
CONTRACT C2 (Dairy Ashford to Kirkwood) CLOSURES
• There will be a total closure of WOOD BRANCH DRIVE from the I-10/KATY FREEWAY WESTBOUND FRONTAGE road to OLD KATY ROAD overnight Sunday, August 21 from 9 PM until 7 AM, Monday August 22. Detour to Morris Road.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound direct connector ramp to I-610/WEST LOOP southbound will be closed from 9 PM, Friday, August 19 to 5 AM, Saturday, August 20. Detour to I-10 eastbound to exit Washington and u-turn to reenter the freeway westbound to access the direct connector to I-610 southbound.

A Glimpse At Next Weekend's Work...
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 Interchange) CLOSURES
The mainlanes of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound and eastbound between WASHINGTON AVENUE and SILBER, including multiple direct connector ramps will be closed beginning Friday, August 26 until Monday, August 29 for the demolition of the now out-of-service I-610/West Loop Bridge over I-10. More details regarding the specific lanes closures and designated detours will be provided next week.
