Below is a list of this weekend's and other upcoming closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of August 25, 2005.
CONTRACT A (HARRIS-FORT BEND COUNTY LINE to SH 99) CLOSURES
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of KATY FORT BEND ROAD northbound and southbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY from 10 PM, Thursday, August 25 to 5 AM, Friday, August 26. Northbound detour to I-10 eastbound to SH 99 and u-turn; southbound detour to the westbound frontage road to Pin Oak Road and u- turn.
• The outside lane of KATY FORT BEND ROAD southbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed on Friday, August 26 from 7 AM to 5 PM.
• The inside lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road at KATY FORT BEND ROAD will be closed on Friday, August 26 from 7 AM to 5 PM.
• The inside lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound at KATY FORT BEND ROAD will be closed on Friday, August 26 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
• The outside lane I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound at SH-99/GRAND PARKWAY will be closed nightly 7 PM to 8 AM from Friday, August 26 to Saturday, August 27.
CONTRACT B (SH 99 to SH 6) CLOSURES
• Alternate lanes of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound from PARK TEN to BARKER CYPRESS ROAD will be closed overnight from 8 PM, Thursday, August 25 to 5 AM, Friday, August 26.
• The inside lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound at MASON ROAD will be closed nightly 7 PM to 8 AM from Friday, August 26 to Saturday, August 27
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to Dairy Ashford) CLOSURES
• Taking into consideration potential schedule delays and the upcoming Labor Day holiday, the previously advertised SH 6 lane reduction has again been POSTPONED. The reduction of lane capacity to two lanes in each direction on SH 6 northbound and southbound from PARK ROW to GRISBY is now scheduled to be effective TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6. When capacity is reduced on SH 6 all turning movements will be accessible; however dedicated turning lanes will not be provided. Motorists should expect delays and consider alternate routes when possible.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 AND I-610) CLOSURES
• Northbound and southbound GESSNER from the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road to OLD KATY ROAD will be closed Thursday, August 25 from 8:30 PM until 5 AM and closed continuously from 4 AM, Saturday, August 27 to 9 PM, Sunday, August 28. Southbound traffic should detour to Beltway 8-West southbound, to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Gessner southbound. Northbound traffic detour to Bunker Hill northbound, to Old Katy Road westbound, to Gessner northbound.
• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road from BUNKER HILL RD to GESSNER DR and the I-10 westbound GESSNER exit ramp will be closed Thursday, August 25 from 8:30 PM until 5 AM and closed continuously from 4 AM, Saturday, August 27 to 9 PM, Sunday, August 28. Detour to Bunker Hill northbound, to Old Katy Road westbound, to Gessner.
• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound exit ramp to CAMPBELL ROAD and the outside lane of the westbound frontage road at CAMPBELL ROAD will be closed continuously from 9 PM, Friday, August 26 to 9 PM, Saturday, August 27. Northbound traffic detour to I-10 westbound frontage road to Blalock northbound, to Westview eastbound, to Campbell northbound; southbound traffic detour to Old Katy Road westbound, to Blalock southbound, to the frontage road eastbound to Campbell southbound.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound from SILBER to WASHINGTON, includng the I-10 HOV LANE, from 9 PM, Friday, August 26 to 5 AM, Monday, August 29. Eastbound traffic should detour to I-610 southbound to San Felipe and u-turn to I-610 northbound to I-10; westbound traffic should detour to the Washington Avenue exit to access Old Katy Road westbound to I-10 westbound frontage road to re-enter the main lanes west of Silber.
• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY WESTBOUND direct connector ramp to I-610/WEST LOOP SOUTHBOUND will be closed starting Friday, August 26 at 9 PM until 5 AM, Monday, August 29. Detour to I-610 northbound, exit at 18th Street and U-turn to access I-610 southbound.
• I-610/WEST LOOP NORTHBOUND direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY WESTBOUND will be closed starting Friday, August 26 at 9 PM until 5 AM, Monday, August 29. Detour to I-610 northbound, exit at 18th Street and U-turn to access the I-610 southbound direct connector ramp to I-10 westbound.
• I-10/KATY FREEWAY EASTBOUND direct connector ramp to I-610/WEST LOOP NORTHBOUND will be closed starting Friday, August 26 at 9 PM until 5 AM, Monday, August 29. Detour to I-610 southbound and U-turn at San Felipe to access I-610 northbound.
• I-610/WEST LOOP SOUTHBOUND direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY EASTBOUND will be closed starting Friday, August 26 at 9 PM until 5 AM, Monday, August 29. Detour to Old Katy Road and travel east on Washington Avenue to access I-10 eastbound.
