UPCOMING TRAFFIC CHANGES IN WEST HOUSTON
"Capacity on SH 6 to be Reduced for Up to Eight Weeks"
(Houston) –Katy Freeway and SH 6 (Texas 6) commuters will notice more traffic pattern changes over the course of the upcoming week. From PARK ROW to GRISBY SH 6 will be reduced to two-lanes in each direction for approximately 6-8 weeks while the contractor completes construction to open the new westbound frontage road. All turning movements will be accessible; however dedicated turning lanes will not be provided. Motorists should expect delays and consider alternate routes when possible.
Williams Brothers Construction will close the I-10 westbound frontage road ramps at Mason Road beginning at 9 AM September 6, 2005. A diagram of the designated detours can be viewed on the Katy Freeway Program website at http://www.katyfreeway.org/Mason_Road/Mason_Approach.html. The total closure of the Mason Road overpass for reconstruction of the intersection is scheduled for early October 2005.
All closures are subject to change due to weather, emergency work, or other events. For more information on the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program including up to date information regarding other lane closures along the I-10 corridor, please visit the Katy Freeway website at www.katyfreeway.org or contact the Katy Freeway Public Information Office at 281-589-5924.
