Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures |

Below is a list of the upcoming closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of September 16, 2005.
CONTRACT A (HARRIS-FORT BEND COUNTY LINE to SH 99) CLOSURES
• The inside lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound at KATY FORT BEND ROAD will be closed nightly 7 PM to 5 AM from Friday, September 16 to Saturday, September 17.
• The inside lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound at KATY FORT BEND ROAD will be closed daily 9 AM to 3 PM and nightly 7 PM to 5 AM from Monday, September 19 to Friday, September 23.
CONTRACT C2 (Dairy Ashford to Kirkwood) CLOSURES
• Alternate lanes of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road from KIRKWOOD RD to DAIRY ASHFORD RD will be closed on Saturday, September 17 from 7 AM to 5 PM.
• OLD KATY ROAD between KIRKWOOD and DAIRY ASHFORD will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 7 AM beginning Monday, September 19 through Thursday, September 22. Detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 AND I-610) CLOSURES
• There will be a total closure the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road from BUNKER HILL RD to GESSNER DR from 10 PM, Saturday, September 17 to 5 AM, Sunday, September 18. Detour northbound on Bunker Hill to Old Katy Road, to Gessner, to the new frontage road.
• Alternate lanes of GESSNER northbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed nightly 9 PM to 5 AM from Friday, September 16 to Friday, September 30.
• Northbound and southbound GESSNER at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed overnight from 10 PM, Saturday, September 17 to 5 AM, Sunday, September 18. Northbound traffic detour to the eastbound frontage road to Bunker Hill northbound, to Old Katy Road westbound, to Gessner; southbound detour to the new frontage road westbound, to Beltway-8 and u-turn to the eastbound frontage road to Gessner.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• Starting at 9 PM Friday, September 16 until 6 PM, Sunday, September 18, the intersection of MEMORIAL at I-610/WEST LOOP will be closed. Eastbound Memorial traffic will be detoured to the southbound frontage road and directed to the U-turn at Woodway. Westbound Memorial traffic will be detoured to Woodway, to Post Oak Lane, to Memorial.

A Glimpse At Next Weekend's Work...
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to Dairy Ashford) CLOSURES
• There will be a total closure of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road at SH 6 beginning 9 PM, Friday, September 23 until 9 PM Monday, September 26. The I-10 westbound frontage road U-turn lane will also be closed. (Northbound and southbound travel on SH 6 will be maintained).
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 AND I-610) CLOSURES
• Williams Brothers anticipates performing a traffic switch next Saturday, September 24 between OLD VOSS and CAMPBELL to transition the existing I-10 westbound frontage road traffic onto the new westbound frontage road. More details regarding the lanes closures and traffic impacts will be released on next week.
