Below is a list of the upcoming closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of October 21, 2005.
CONTRACT A (Katy-Fort Bend County Line to SH 99) CLOSURES
The inside lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound at KATY FORT BEND RD will be closed on Monday, October 24 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
CONTRACT D (I-10/Beltway 8 Interchange) CLOSURES
There will be a total closure of the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road at I-10/KATY FREEWAY on Saturday, October 22 from 9:30 AM to noon. Detour to Gessner and u-turn.
There will be a total closure of the Beltway 8 southbound Frontage Road at I-10/KATY FREEWAY on Saturday, October 22 from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM. Detour to Wilcrest and u-turn.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 AND I-610) CLOSURES
Look Road at the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road will be permanently closed effective Monday, October 24, 2005.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound from SILBER to WASHINGTON, includng the I-10 HOV LANE, from 9 PM, Friday, October 21 to 5 AM, Monday, October 24. Eastbound traffic should detour to I-610 southbound to San Felipe and u-turn to I-610 northbound to I-10; westbound traffic should detour to the Washington Avenue exit to access Old Katy Road westbound to I-10 westbound frontage road to re-enter the main lanes west of Silber.
The I-10/KATY FREEWAY WESTBOUND direct connector ramp to I-610/WEST LOOP SOUTHBOUND will be closed starting Friday, October 21 at 9 PM until 9 PM, Saturday, October 22. Detour to I-610 northbound, exit at 18th Street and U-turn to access I-610 southbound.
I-610/WEST LOOP NORTHBOUND direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY WESTBOUND will be closed starting Friday, October 21 at 9 PM until 9 PM, Saturday, October 22. Detour to I-610 northbound, exit at 18th Street and U-turn to access the I-610 southbound direct connector ramp to I-10 westbound.
I-10/KATY FREEWAY EASTBOUND direct connector ramp to I-610/WEST LOOP NORTHBOUND will be closed starting Friday, October 21 at 9 PM until 9 PM, Saturday, October 22. Detour to I-610 southbound and U-turn at San Felipe to access I-610 northbound.
I-610/WEST LOOP SOUTHBOUND direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY EASTBOUND will be closed starting Friday, October 21 at 9 PM until 9 PM, Saturday, October 22. Detour to Old Katy Road and travel east on Washington Avenue to access I-10 eastbound.
The inside lane I-610/WEST LOOP NORTHBOUND at WOODWAY DR. will be closed on Sunday, October 23 from 10:00 PM to midnight.

A Glimpse At Upcoming Work...
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 AND I-610) CLOSURES
The contractor anticipates switching traffic onto the new I-10 westbound mainlanes from Silber to Beltway 8 over the course of next weekend, beginning at 9 PM on Friday, October 28 until 5 AM, Monday October 31. Accordingly, alternate lanes of I-10 westbound will be closed to facilitate the shift of traffic. Once the new I-10 westbound mainlanes are open, the existing westbound frontage road between Campbell and west of Gessner will be closed for reconstruction. Westbound frontage road traffic will be detoured onto Old Katy Road until the new frontage road is opened.
CONTRACT B (SH 99 to SH 6) CLOSURES
Effective November 1 the I-10 overpass structure at MASON ROAD will be closed for reconstruction. The intersection is being rebuilt as an at-grade intersection as a part of the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program. Closure of Mason Road over I-10 will mark the beginning of the contractor's next major milestone for the SH 99 to SH 6 contract (Contract B). The contractor has been allocated a maximum of 105 days from the time the Mason Road bridge is totally closed to reopen and restore cross corridor access.
