Below is an update list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of January 4, 2006.
CONTRACT A (HARRIS-FORT BEND LINE TO SH 99)
One inside lane I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound at KATY FORT BEND ROAD will be closed on Thursday, January 5 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10 eastbound and westbound U-TURNS at US 90 Thursday, January 5 from 7 AM to 5 PM. Detour to the signalized intersection.
One outside lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road from SH-99/GRAND PARKWAY to KATY FORT BEND ROAD will be closed daily from 9 AM to 3 PM through Friday, January 6.
CONTRACT C2 (Dairy Ashford to east of Kirkwood) CLOSURES
There will be intermittent closures on OLD KATY ROAD eastbound and westbound from OAK STREAM to KIRKWOOD until 5 PM, Monday, January 16. This is a moving operation.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 AND I-610) CLOSURES
The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound entrance ramp from SILBER will be closed continuously from 7 AM, Saturday, December 31, 2005 until 5 PM, Sunday, December 31, 2006. Detour to the Antoine Road entrance ramp.
The outside auxiliary lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound between SILBER and WIRT ROAD is closed until further notice.
The right lane I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound from I-610/WEST LOOP to WIRT ROAD will be closed overnight from 9 PM, Thursday, January 5 to 5 AM, Friday, January 6.
The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound exit ramp to WIRT/CHIMNEY ROCK will be closed overnight from 9 PM, Thursday, January 5 to 5 AM, Friday, January 6.
There will be a total closure of the intersection of Gessner at I-10/KATY FREEWAY from 8 PM, Friday, January 6 until Noon, Saturday, January 7.
Northbound and southbound GESSNER at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed overnight from 9 PM, Friday, January 6 to 6 PM, Saturday, January 7. Northbound traffic detour to the eastbound frontage road to Bunker Hill northbound, to the westbound frontage road to Gessner; southbound detour to the frontage road westbound, to Beltway-8 and u-turn to the eastbound frontage road to Gessner.
Northbound and southbound BUNKER HILL at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed overnight from 9 PM, Saturday, January 7 to 6 PM, Sunday, January 8. Southbound detour to I-10 westbound frontage road to Gessner u-turn to I-10 eastbound to Bunker Hill ; northbound detour to I-10 eastbound to Blalock u-turn to I-10 westbound frontage road to Bunker Hill.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
One lane of the I-610/WEST LOOP northbound connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY east- and westbound will be closed continuously from 5 AM, Thursday, January 5 to 5 PM, Sunday, December 31, 2006. One lane will remain open to I-10/Katy Freeway east- and westbound.
The I-610/WEST LOOP northbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound will be closed continuously from 9 PM, Friday, January 6 to 9 PM, Saturday, January 7. Detour northbound on I-610 to W. 18th and u-turn to IH 610 southbound to I-10.
The I-610/WEST LOOP southbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound will be closed Sunday, January 8 from 6 AM to 1 PM. Detour to I-10 westbound to Wirt and U-turn to access I-10 eastbound.
