Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures |

Below is a list of the upcoming closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of February 13, 2006.
CONTRACT A (HARRIS-FORT BEND COUNTY LINE to SH 99) CLOSURES
• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound entrance ramp for SH 99/GRAND PARKWAY will be a closed effective Monday, February 13 until March 17, 2006. Detour to the entrance ramp after Westgreen to enter I-10 eastbound.
• The left lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound at KATY FORT BEND will be closed on Tuesday, February 14 from 9:30 AM to 3 PM.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10 westbound to eastbound U-TURN at SH 99/GRAND PARKWAY Tuesday, February 14 from 7 AM to 5 PM. Detour to the signalized intersection.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the SH 99/GRAND PARKWAY northbound to southbound U-TURN at I-10/KATY FREEWAY from 7 AM, Tuesday, February 14 to 5 PM, Friday, February 17. Detour to the signalized intersection.
CONTRACT B (SH 99 to SH 6) CLOSURES
• Two left lanes of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound from SH 6 to PARK TEN will be closed on Wednesday, February 15 from 9 PM to 5 AM.
• Two left lanes of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes from PARK TEN to SH 6 will be closed on Thursday, February 16 from 9 PM to 5 AM.
• Thursday, February 16 the contractor will convert the access roads, also referred to as bell ramps, on the south side of I-10/KATY FREEWAY at MASON ROAD to two-traffic eastbound and westbound with a centerlane dedicated for left-turning movements.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to west of Dairy Ashford) CLOSURES
• Alternate lanes of ELDRIDGE northbound and southbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed continuously until 5 PM, Friday, March 7.
CONTRACT C2 (West of Dairy Ashford to KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
• Alternate lanes of OLD KATY ROAD at KIRWOOD will be closed daily from 9 AM to 3 PM through Friday, February 17.
• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road between DAIRY ASHFORD and ELDRIDGE is closed until March 21. Detour via the I-10 westbound auxiliary lane. The I-10 westbound exit ramp to Eldridge will remain open.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 AND I-610) CLOSURES
• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound to westbound U-TURN at GESSNER will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM from Tuesday, February 14 to Thursday, February 16. Detour to the signalized intersection.
• Alternate lanes of BINGLE northbound and southbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed continuously until 5 PM, Friday, March 31. One lane will remain open.
• Alternate lanes of WIRT northbound and southbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed continuously until 5 PM, Friday, March 31. One lane will remain open.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• One inside lane of the I-610/WEST LOOP southbound frontage road from POST OAK to SAN FELIPE will be closed daily from 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday, February 13 to Friday, February 17.
• The I-610/WEST LOOP southbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM Monday, February 13 to Friday, February 17. Detour to I-10 westbound to Wirt and U-turn to access I-10 eastbound.
