This Weekend's Closures--February 24-27, 2006 |

Below is a list of the upcoming closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of February 24, 2006.
CONTRACT A (HARRIS-FORT BEND COUNTY LINE to SH 99) CLOSURES
• The inside lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road at KATY FORT BEND ROAD will be closed daily (Excluding Sunday(s)) from 7 AM to 3 PM, Saturday, February 25 to Monday, February 27.
• The inside lane I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound at KATY FORT BEND ROAD will be closed on Monday, February 27 from 9:30 AM to 3 PM
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• The I-610/WEST LOOP northbound direct connector ramps to I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound will be closed starting 9 PM, Friday, February 24 until 6 PM, Saturday, February 25. Detour to I-610 northbound, exit at 18th Street and U-turn to access I-610 southbound to access I-10 eastbound or westbound. • Two lanes of I-610/WEST LOOP northbound from WOODWAY to I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed from 9 PM, Friday, February 24 until 6 PM, Saturday, February 25.
• The I-610/WEST LOOP northbound exit ramp to MEMORIAL will be closed effective 9 PM, Friday, February 24. This closure will be a long-term closure and will result in the San Felipe exit ramp being the last northbound exit from I-610/West Loop south of I-10/Katy Freeway until May 2006. Detailed maps are provided on the Katy Freeway website to illustrate the designated detour option motorists can use to access the I-610 northbound frontage road and cross streets between San Felipe and I-610. • The intersection of MEMORIAL at I-610/WEST LOOP will be closed from 9 PM, Friday, February 24 until 6 PM, Sunday, February 26. Eastbound Memorial traffic will be detoured to the southbound frontage road and directed to the U-turn at Woodway. Westbound Memorial traffic will be detoured to Woodway in Memorial Park to North Post Oak Blvd. to get back to Memorial.
• The I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound direct connector ramps to I-610/West Loop northbound and southbound will be closed from 9 PM, Saturday, February 25 to Noon, Sunday, February 26. Detour via I-10 eastbound to Washington Avenue and u-turn to I-10 westbound to access I-610 northbound and southbound.

A Glimpse At Next Weekend's Work...
CONTRACT C2 (West of Dairy Ashford to KIRKWOOD)
• Balfour Beatty Construction will close alternate lanes of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound between east of KIRKWOOD and west of DAIRY ASHFORD beginning 9 PM, Friday, March 3 until 5 AM Monday, March 6 to switch traffic onto the new westbound lanes.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• Over the weekend of March 3-6, 2006, Williams Brothers Construction will be switching traffic onto the new I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT ROAD and I-610/WEST LOOP. To perform the switch, the contractor will reduce I-10 eastbound traffic in the area to one lane from 9 PM Friday, March 3 until 9 PM, Saturday, March 4. Additionally, the contractor will be closing the I-10 eastbound direct connector ramps to I-610 northbound and southbound. The I-10 eastbound ramp to I-610 southbound will be closed from 9 PM, Friday, March 3 until 5 AM, Monday, March 6. The I-10 eastbound ramp to I-610 northbound will be closed effective 9 PM, Friday, March 3 through May 2006. More details regarding the upcoming lanes closures and designated detours will be released next week.
