Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures |

Below is a list of the upcoming closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of March 3, 2006.
CONTRACT A (HARRIS-FORT BEND COUNTY LINE to SH 99) CLOSURES
• There will be a total closure of KATY FORT BEND ROAD northbound and southbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY from 9 AM, Friday, March 3 until 5 PM, Friday, March 17. Detour to US 90 or SH 99-Grand Parkway.
• The inside lane of I-10 eastbound between PIN OAK and SH 99/GRAND PARKWAY will be closed daily from 9:30 AM to 3 PM Monday, March 6 through Friday, March 10.
CONTRACT C2 (Dairy Ashford to east of Kirkwood) CLOSURES
• Alternate lanes of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound between WILCREST and ELDRIDGE will be closed beginning 9 PM, Friday, March 3 until Noon, Saturday, March 4 to switch traffic onto the new westbound lanes.
• Effective 9 PM Friday, March 3 existing I-10 westbound frontage road traffic between east of KIRKWOOD and ELDRIDGE will be relocated to OLD KATY ROAD.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 AND I-610) CLOSURES
• Alternate lanes of southbound GESSNER at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM Friday, March 3 and Monday, March 6 thru Wednesday March 8.
• Alternate lanes of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage between FROSTWOOD and GESSNER will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM Friday, March 3 and Monday, March 6 thru Wednesday March 8.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• Alternate lanes I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound from BINGLE ROAD to I-610/WEST LOOP and corresponding entrance ramps in the area will be closed continuously from 9 PM, Friday, March 3 to 9 PM, Saturday, March 4. Only one express lane will remain open. Saturday, March 4, from 5 AM to 8 PM the I-10 HOV lane will be open eastbound from CAMPBELL to I-610/WEST LOOP to all passenger vehicles. MOTORISTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO USE ALTERNATE ROUTES.
• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound direct connecto ramp to I-610/WEST LOOP southbound will be closed from 9 AM, Saturday, March 4 until 5 AM, Monday, March 6. Traffic should detour eastbound to the Washington exit, go through the intersection to I-10 westbound to access I-610 southbound.
• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound direct connector ramp to I-610/WEST LOOP northbound will be closed effective 9 AM, Saturday, March 4 through May 2006. The designated detour for motorists on I-10 eastbound destined to I-610 northbound will be to continue eastbound to exit at Washington Avenue and go through the intersection to I-10 westbound to access I-610 northbound. • The I-610/WEST LOOP northbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM starting Monday, March 6 to Thursday, March 9. Detour to I-10 eastbound to the Washington exit, go through the intersection to I-10 westbound.

A Glimpse At Next Weekend's Work...
CONTRACT D (I-10/Belway 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• Alternate lanes of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound between KIRKWOOD and GESSNER will be closed beginning 9 PM, Friday, March 10 until 5 AM, Monday, March 13 to switch traffic onto the new mainlanes of I-10. This closure will require interim closures of the entrance/exit ramps and the I-10 eastbound to Beltway 8 direct connectors. More details regarding the upcoming lanes closures and designated detours will be released next week.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• I-610/WEST LOOP NORTHBOUND direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY WESTBOUND will be closed Saturday, March 11 from 6:30 AM until 7 PM. Detour to I-610 northbound, exit at 18th Street and U-turn to access the I-610 southbound direct connector ramp to I-10 westbound.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound Saturday, March 11 thru Sunday, March 12. Specifics regarding the upcoming lanes closures and designated detours will be released next week.
