Upcoming Total Closure of I-10EB Between Silber and Washington

Wednesday, Mar 8th, 2006

TOTAL CLOSURE OF I-10/KATY FREEWAY EASTBOUND BETWEEN SILBER AND WASHINGTON

"Drivers are Strongly Encouraged to Consider Alternate Routes"

(Houston) – Again this weekend, there will be multiple closures in the vicinity of the I-10/I-610 interchange associated with an aggressive schedule of weekend and nightly closures planned throughout the month of March. Beginning Saturday, March 11 at 6:30 AM until 7 PM, the I-610/West Loop northbound direct connector ramp to I-10/Katy Freeway westbound will be closed due to construction. I-610 northbound motorists destined for I-10 westbound will be detoured via I-10 eastbound to exit at Washington to make a U-turn to access I-10 westbound. Beginning at 9 PM Saturday, March 11 until Noon, Sunday, March 12 there will be a total closure of the mainlanes of I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound between Silber and Washington, including the I-10 HOV lane. Due to the complexity of the work to be performed and the broad work area required, detour options will be limited and drivers are strongly encouraged to use alternate travel routes where possible to avoid delays. I-10 eastbound traffic will be detoured via the I-10 eastbound direct connect ramp to I-610 southbound to exit at San Felipe and make a U-turn to enter I-610 northbound to access I-10 eastbound.

As a reminder, the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound direct connector ramp to I-610/West Loop northbound will remain closed through the month of May 2006. For more information regarding these closures or other issues regarding the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program contact Raquelle Lewis at 281-589-5852.
