Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures |

Below is a list of the upcoming closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of March 10, 2006.
CONTRACT A (HARRIS-FORT BEND COUNTY LINE to SH 99) CLOSURES
• One inside lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road from US 90 to PIN OAK will be closed daily from 7 AM to 5 PM, Monday, March 13 to Friday, March 16 .
• One inside lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound from SH 99/GRAND PARKWAY to PIN OAK will be closed daily from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday, March 13 to Friday, March 16 .
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to west of Dairy Ashford) CLOSURES
• There will be alternate TOTAL CLOSURES of northbound and southbound SH 6 at IH 10-KATY FREEWAY this weekend from 9 PM, Saturday, March 11 to 5 AM, Sunday, March 12. The designated detour while SH 6 southbound is closed is to take the westbound frontage road to Park 10 and u-turn to the eastbound frontage road, to SH 6 southbound. The designated detour while SH 6 northbound is closed is to take the eastbound frontage road to Eldridge and u-turn to the westbound frontage road to SH 6 northbound.
• One outside lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road at SH-6 will be closed on Saturday, March 11 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
CONTRACT C2 (West of Dairy Ashford to KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
• There will be a total closure of the intersection of DAIRY ASHFORD northbound and southbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY from 10 PM, Friday, March 10 to 5 AM, Monday, March 13. Southbound detour to westbound frontage road to Eldridge and u-turn to the eastbound frontage road to Dairy Ashford; northbound detour to the eastbound frontage road to Kirkwood and u-turn to the westbound frontage road to Dairy Ashford.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 AND I-610) CLOSURES
• The I-10 westbound to eastbound U-TURN at GESSNER will be closed effective 7 AM, Monday, March 13 until 5 PM, Sunday, April 30. Detour to the signalized intersection.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• The I-610/WEST LOOP NORTHBOUND direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY WESTBOUND will be closed on Saturday, March 11 from 6 AM to 7 PM. Detour to I-10 eastbound, exit at Washington, go through the intersection to I-10 westbound.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY EASTBOUND from SILBER to I-610 WEST LOOP from 9 PM, Saturday, March 11 to noon, Sunday, March 12. Detour to I-610/WEST LOOP southbound to Post Oak and u-turn to I-610 northbound, to I-10 eastbound
• The I-610/WEST LOOP NORTHBOUND direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY WESTBOUND will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM Wednesday, March 15 and Thursday, March 16. Detour to I-10 eastbound to the Washington exit, go through the intersection to I-10 westbound.
• The I-610/WEST LOOP SOUTHBOUND direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY EASTBOUND will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM Wednesday, March 15 and Thursday, March 16. Detour to Old Katy Road and travel east on Washington Avenue to access I-10 eastbound.

A GLIMPSE AT UPCOMING MAJOR CLOSURES...
CONTRACT D (I-10/Belway 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• Alternate lanes of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound between KIRKWOOD and GESSNER will be closed beginning 9 PM, Friday, March 17 until 5 AM, Monday, March 20 to switch traffic onto the new mainlanes of I-10. This closure will require interim closures of the entrance/exit ramps and the I-10 eastbound to Beltway 8 direct connectors. More details regarding the upcoming lanes closures and designated detours will be released next week.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• Beginning Friday, March 17 until 9 PM, Saturday, March 18, Williams Brothers will be shifting the existing I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound to I-610/WEST LOOP northbound and southbound direct connector traffic onto the newly constructed direct connector ramps. This traffic switch will effect I-10 westbound traffic as well as close the two direct connectors. More details regarding the upcoming closures and the designated detours will be released next week.
• Beginning 9 PM Saturday, March 18 until 9 PM, Sunday, March 19 the I-610/WEST LOOP northbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound and one lane of I-10 westbound between Washington and I-610 will be closed. More details regarding the upcoming closures and the designated detours will be released next week.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10 eastbound and westbound and multiple direct connector ramps the weekend of Friday, March 24 -27, 2006. More details including specifics about closure times and detours will be forthcoming.
