CONSTRUCTION IS NEARING COMPLETION ON CONTACT B

"Upcoming I-10/Katy Freeway Traffic Changes Between Greenhouse and Barker Cypress"

(Houston) - Drivers on I-10/Katy Freeway in the west Houston area will likely notice construction is nearing completion on Contact B which is the portion of I-10 east of SH 99/Grand Parkway to west of SH 6. Tonight, Monday, March 20 Williams Brothers Construction (WB) will be shifting the I-10 eastbound mainlane traffic onto the new pavement over Barker Cypress and opening the permanent Greenhouse entrance ramp and the Park Ten exit ramp. In order to perform this traffic switch, alternate lanes of I-10 eastbound between Greenhouse and Park Ten will be closed beginning 9 PM, Monday, March 20 until 5 AM, Tuesday, March 21.

The traffic switch onto new pavement at Barker Cypress will mark the successful completion of the milestone for the reconstruction of the freeway at Mason Road and Barker Cypress. By successfully completing this milestone 30 days ahead of schedule, WB will capture the full amount of the incentive, $300,000. The completion of this milestone also signifies the completed construction of all major bridge structures and mainlane pavement for Contract B. In the upcoming months, the contractor will be finishing final tasks to complete the I-10 reconstruction activities for Contract B.
