Upcoming Total Closure of I10 EB & WB

UPCOMING TOTAL CLOSURE OF I-10 EASTBOUND AND WESTBOUND
IN THE VICINITY OF THE I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE RECONSTRUCTION

(Houston) – This weekend, April 7-10, 2006, the Texas Department of Transportation's contractor for the I-10/I-610 Interchange reconstruction will totally close I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound and westbound from Washington Avenue to Silber. Simultaneously, three direct connector ramps will be closed including: 1) I-610 southbound direct connector to I-10 eastbound; 2) I-610 northbound direct connector to I-10 westbound; and 3) the long-term closure of the I-10 eastbound direct connector to I-610 northbound. The closures are required for the demolition and removal of now out-of-service direct connector ramps and the placing of beams for new ramps under construction.
