Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures |

Below is a list of the upcoming closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of May 11, 2006.
CONTRACT A (HARRIS-FORT BEND COUNTY LINE to SH 99) CLOSURES
• Alternate lanes of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound from PIN OAK to MASON RD will be closed nightly from 7 PM to 5 AM on Thursday, May 11 and Friday, May 12.
• Alternate lanes of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound from MASON RD to PIN OAK will be closed nightly from 7 PM to 5 AM on Thursday, May 11 and Friday, May 12.
• One inside lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound from SH-99/GRAND PARKWAY to PIN OAK will be closed Friday, May 12 from 7 AM to 5 PM.
• Alternate lanes of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road from SH-99/GRAND PARKWAY to PIN OAK will be closed Friday, May 12 from 7 AM to 5 PM.
• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound to eastbound U-TURN at US 90 in Katy will be closed on Friday, May 12 from 7 AM to 5 PM. Detour to the signalized intersection.
• One outside lane I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound at US 90 in Katy will be closed on Friday, May 12 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
• One inside lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound at KATY FORT BEND RD will be closed on Friday, May 12 from 7 AM to 5 PM and on Saturday, May 13 from 7 AM to 3 PM.
• One right lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road at SH-99/GRAND PARKWAY will be closed Saturday, May 13 from 7 AM to 3 PM.
• Alternate lanes of SH-99/GRAND PARKWAY northbound and southbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed Saturday, May 13 from 7 AM to 3PM.
CONTRACT B (SH 99 to SH 6) CLOSURES
• Alternate lanes of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound and alternate entrance and exit ramps from SH-99/GRAND PARKWAY to SH-6 will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM through Friday, May 19. When one ramp is closed, detour to the next ramp.
CONTRACT D (I-10/Beltway 8 INTERCHANGE)CLOSURES
• One alternate lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road from GESSNER DR to KIRKWOOD RD. will be closed daily from 9 AM to 3 PM through Friday, May 26.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 SOUTHBOUND FRONTAGE ROAD at I-10 KATY FREEEWAY from 9 PM, Friday, May 12 to noon, Saturday, May 13. Detour to I-10 westbound frontage road to Wilcrest, turn left to I-10 eastbound to Beltway 8.
CONTRACT F (I-10/ I-610 IINTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• The intersection of Memorial at I-610 will be closed from 9 PM, Thursday, May 11 until 5 AM, Friday, May 12. Eastbound Memorial traffic will be detoured to the southbound frontage road and directed to the U-turn at Woodway. Westbound Memorial traffic will be detoured to Woodway in Memorial Park to North Post Oak Blvd. to get back to Memorial.
• Alternate lanes of NORTH POST OAK northbound and southbound between the I-10/KATY FREEWAY EASTBOUND FRONTAGE ROAD and OLD KATY ROAD will be closed Saturday, May 13 from 6 AM to 6 PM.
• Alternate lane of OLD KATY ROAD eastbound and westbound at NORTH POST OAK will be closed from 7 PM, Friday, May 12 until 7 PM, Saturday, May 13.
• The I-610/WEST LOOP northbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound will be closed on Saturday, May 13 from 6 AM to 3 PM. Detour to I-10 eastbound to the Washington/Westcott exit and go through the intersection to I-10 westbound, to I-610.
• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramp to I-610/WEST LOOP northbound will be closed overnight from 9 PM, Thursday May 18 to 5 AM, Friday, May April 19. Detour at the Washington exit and go to Old Katy Rd., to I-610 northbound.

A Glimpse At Next Weekend's Work...
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• Friday night, May 19 Williams Brothers Construction will be re-configuring the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT ROAD and I-610/WEST LOOP to prepare for the opening of the new I-10 eastbound direct connector ramp to I-610 northbound. The contractor is scheduled to open the new I-10 eastbound direct connector ramp to I-610 northbound Sunday, May 21. Accordingly, the contractor will reduce I-10 eastbound traffic in the area to one lane from 9 PM Friday, May 19 until 6 PM, Saturday, May 20. Simultaneously, the contractor will be closing the I-10 eastbound direct connector ramp to I-610 southbound.
• The contractor will also close the I-10 westbound direct connector ramp to I-610 southbound and the I-610 southbound direct connector ramp to I-10 eastbound starting 9 PM, Friday, May 19 until 5 AM, Saturday, May 20. More details regarding the lane configurations, related lanes closures and designated detours will be released in the upcoming week.
