I-10 EB Reduced to One Lane This Weekend

THE NEW I-10 EASTBOUND DIRECT CONNECTOR RAMP TO I-610 NORTHBOUND TO OPEN SATURDAY, MAY 20

"I-10 Eastbound Reduced to One Lane This Weekend"

(Houston)- I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound travelers in the vicinity of the I-10/I-610 interchange will be provided much anticipated relief with the opening of the new I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound to I-610/West Loop northbound direct connector ramp. Friday night, May 19 Williams Brothers Construction will begin re-configuring the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT ROAD and I-610/WEST LOOP to prepare for the opening of the new I-10 eastbound direct connector ramp to I-610 northbound. I-10 eastbound traffic between CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT ROAD and I-610/WEST LOOP will be reduced to one lane from 9 PM Friday, May 19 until 6 PM, Saturday, May 20. Simultaneously, the I-10 eastbound direct connector ramp to I-610 southbound will be closed starting 9 PM Friday, May 19 until 6 PM, Saturday, May 20. Detour via I-10 eastbound to exit at Washington Avenue and U-turn to I-10 westbound to access I-610 or exit at Silber and take a right on North Post Oak Blvd to access the I-610 southbound frontage road. Additionally, the I-610 northbound direct connector ramp to I-10 westbound will be closed Saturday, May 20 from 6 AM to 3 PM. Detour via I-10 eastbound to exit at Washington Avenue and U-turn to I-10 westbound.

The Contractor is scheduled to open the new I-10 eastbound direct connector ramp to I-610 northbound upon the completion of the traffic change Saturday evening, May 20. The opening of the ramp will mark the early completion a yet another major milestone of the construction contract and makes the Contractor eligible to earn the maximum incentive payment of $600,000.

All closures are subject to change due to weather, emergency work, or other events.
