Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures |

Below is a list of the upcoming closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of September 14, 2006.
CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
• There will be a total closure of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage between DAIRY ASHFORD and ELDRIDGE effective 9 PM Friday, September 15 until September 25. Traffic will be detoured onto the I-10 westbound mainlanes via the Kirkwood entrance ramp. The intersection of I-10/Katy Freeway and Dairy Ashford will remain open, however traffic to I-10 westbound will be detoured to I-10 eastbound frontage road to go through the Kirkwood intersection and enter I-10 westbound via the Kirkwood entrance ramp.
CONTRACT F (I-10/ I-610 IINTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• One inside lane of MEMORIAL eastbound and westbound at I-610 will be closed from 9 PM tonight, Thursday, September 14 until 5 AM, Friday, September 15.
• The I-610/WEST LOOP northbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FRREWAY eastbound and westbound will be closed nightly Thursday, September 14 and Friday, September 15 from 9 PM to 5 AM. Detour to 18th Street and U-turn to I-610/West Loop southbound to access I-10 eastbound and westbound.
• There will be a TOTAL closure of the intersection of POST OAK at I-610 from 9 PM Friday, September 15 until 5 AM, Monday, September 18. Eastbound Post Oak traffic will be detoured to the southbound frontage road and directed to the U-turn at San Felipe. Westbound Post Oak traffic will be detoured to northbound frontage to U-turn at Woodway to get back to Post Oak Blvd.
• There will be a TOTAL closure of the intersection of MEMORIAL at I-610 from 9 PM Friday, September 15 until 5 AM, Monday, September 18. Eastbound Memorial traffic will be detoured to the southbound frontage road and directed to the U-turn at Woodway. Westbound Memorial traffic will be detoured to Woodway in Memorial Park and directed to turn right on Post Oak Lane to get back to Memorial.
• The I-610/WEST LOOP northbound frontage road will be closed between WOODWAY and MEMORIAL from 9 PM Friday, September 15 until 5 AM, Monday, September 18.
• One inside lane of I-610/WEST LOOP southbound will be closed from US 290 to SAN FELIPE on Saturday, September 16 from 5 AM to 11:59PM.
• One lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound direct connector ramps to I-610/WEST LOOP northbound will be close Saturday, September 16 from 7 PM to 5 PM and Sunday, September 17 from 7 AM to 3 PM.
• I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound to I-610/WEST LOOP southbound will be closed nightly from Sunday, September 17 through Thursday, September 21. Detour to I-610 northbound and exit at 18th Street and U-turn to I-610/West Loop southbound to access I-10 eastbound and westbound.
• There will be nightly TOTAL CLOSURES of I-610/WEST LOOP southbound from I-10/KATY FREEWAY to SAN FELIPE, including corresponding entrance and exit ramps, starting Sunday, September 17 through Thursday, September 21 from 9 PM to 5 AM. Traffic will be detoured to the I-610 southbound frontage road and directed to re-enter I-610 southbound via the San Felipe entrance ramp. (The specific limits of these closures will vary nightly relative to the progress of the contractor's stripping activities each night.)

A Glimpse At Next Weekend's Work...
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• Friday night, September 22 Williams Brothers Construction will be stripping the final portion of the southbound lanes to complete the I-610/WEST LOOP mainlane reconstruction. To strip the southbound lanes in the vicinity of the I-10/I-610 interchange US 290 eastbound will be totally closed nightly Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23 from 9 PM to 9 AM. Additionally the contractor will prepare to open the newly constructed I-610/WEST LOOP southbound WOODWAY exit ramp. More details regarding the final lane configurations, related lanes closures and designated detours will be released next week.
