Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures

Below is a list of the upcoming closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of October 6, 2006.
CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
• Two northbound lanes of DAIRY ASHFORD at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM until Monday, October 16.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound entrance ramp from WIRT continuously from 5 AM Monday October 9 to 5 AM Monday October 23. Traffic should continue on the I-10/KATY FREEWAY frontage road and enter at Blalock.
CONTRACT F (I-10/ I-610 IINTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-610/WEST LOOP northbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound continuously from 9 PM Friday, October 6 to 9:00 PM Saturday October 7. Traffic should continue on I-610 northbound exit W. 18th and u-turn to I-610 southbound to access I-10 westbound.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-610/WEST LOOP southbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound continuously from 9 PM Friday, October 6 to 9:00 PM Saturday October 7. Traffic should continue on I-610 southbound exit Post Oak and u-turn to I-610 northbound to access I-10 eastbound.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of Woodway eastbound and westbound at I-610/WEST LOOP continuously from 8:00 PM, Friday, October 6 to 5:00 AM, Monday, October 9. Eastbound traffic should detour to the I-610 southbound frontage road and u-turn at Post Oak to access Woodway. Westbound traffic should detour to the I-610 northbound frontage road and u-turn at Memorial to access Woodway.

A Glimpse At Next Weekend's Work...
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
Next weekend, October 13-16, the contractor will switch traffic onto the new I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between Beltway 8 and Wirt. Only one lane of I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound between Beltway 8 and Wirt will remain open, additionally all entrance and exit ramps from east of Gessner to Wirt will be closed. More details regarding the final lane configurations, related lane closures and designated detours will be released next week.
