Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures |

Below is a list of the upcoming closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of November 9, 2006.
CONTRACTS C1 & C2 (SH 6 to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
• There will be a TOTAL closure of the intersection of KIRKWOOD at I-10 from 9 PM tonight, Thursday, November 9 until 5 AM, Friday, November 10. Northbound Kirkwood traffic will be detoured to the westbound frontage road and directed to the U-turn at WILCREST. Southbound Kirkwood traffic will be detoured to the eastbound frontage road to the U-turn at DAIRY ASHFORD to get back to Kirkwood.
• Williams Brothers Construction and Balfour-Beatty Construction, will work together to facilitate the switch of the existing I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound traffic onto new pavement between SH 6 and Kirkwood. Alternate lanes of I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound including the corresponding entrance and exit ramps from just east of SH-6 to east of KIRKWOOD will be closed beginning 9 PM Friday, November 10 until noon, Saturday, November 11.
• Effective 12 PM, Saturday, November 11 the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound entrance ramp from SH-6 will be moved further east, closer to Eldridge.
• Effective 12 PM, Saturday, November 11 the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound exit ramp to ELDRIDGE will be relocated to just east of SH-6.
• The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound entrance ramp from ELDRIDGE will close effective 9 PM, Friday, November 10 until further notice. Detour the I-10 eastbound entrance ramp from Dairy Ashford to access I-10 eastbound.
CONTRACT F (I-10/ I-610 IINTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
• The I-610/WEST LOOP southbound exit ramp to WOODWAY, north of I-10/Katy Freeway, is closed until Thursday, November 16. Detour via the I-610 southbound exit ramp to Post Oak and U-turn to access Woodway.
• The I-610/WEST LOOP southbound exit ramp to WOODWAY, south of I-10/Katy Freeway, will close effective 9 PM, Thursday, November 9 until Thursday, November 16. Detour via the I-610 southbound exit ramp to Post Oak and U-turn to access Woodway.
• Alternate lanes of the I-610/WEST LOOP northbound and southbound frontage road from MEMORIAL DR to SAN FELIPE will be closed continuously from 9 PM, Thursday, November 9 until November 22.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-610/WEST LOOP southbound frontage road from MEMORIAL to WOODWAY beginning 8 PM Friday, November 10 until 5 AM, Monday, November 13. Southbound traffic should detour turn right onto Memorial then left onto Post Oak Lane southbound, to Woodway.
