I-10 EB Reduce to One Lane -- Motorists Avoid the Area

I-10/KATY FREEWAY EASTBOUND REDUCED TO ONLY ONE LANE BETWEEN BINGLE AND LOOP 610
"I-10/Katy Freeway Eastbound at I-610/West Loop in Final Configuration”
(Houston) – Motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate travel routes to access I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound in the vicinity I-10/I-610 Interchange this weekend. Beginning 9 PM, Friday, December 29 until Noon, Sunday, December 31, the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound direct connector ramps to I-610/West Loop northbound and southbound will be closed, plus one lane of I 10/Katy Freeway eastbound between Bingle and I-610/West Loop. Motorists destined to I-610 /West Loop will be detoured to exit at Washington Avenue and U-turn to I-10/Katy Freeway westbound to access I-610/West Loop northbound and southbound. This closure will restrict I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound to only one lane in the area while contractors complete the I-10 eastbound switch to open the final lane configuration for the I-10 eastbound direct connectors to I-610 northbound and southbound.
When the traffic switch is complete drivers will notice the new lane configuration provides two dedicated lanes for each the I-10 eastbound to I-610 southbound and I-10 eastbound to I-610 westbound direct connectors.
Please note that all closures are subject to change due to inclement weather.
