Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures |

Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, March 2, 2007.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. Two outside lanes of northbound SH-6 at I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed overnight from 9 PM, Friday, March 2 to 10 AM, Saturday, March 3.
CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound KIRKWOOD beginning 9 AM Friday, March 2 to 5 AM Monday, March 5 as well as alternating lanes of the westbound frontage road between WILCREST and DAIRY ASHFORD while contractors facilitate the switch of the existing I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road traffic onto new pavement.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. Alternate lanes of the Beltway-8 northbound frontage road from KIMBERLEY LN to I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed overnight from 9 PM, Friday, March 2 to 5 AM, Saturday, March 3.
. The intersection of LUMPKIN and the westbound I-10/KATY FREEWAY frontage road will be closed for two weeks beginning 7 PM Tuesday, March 6.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-610/WEST LOOP northbound and southbound direct connector ramps to I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound beginning 9 PM Friday, March 2 to 9 AM Sunday, March 4. Northbound traffic will detour to W. 18th and u-turn to IH 610 southbound, exit to Old Katy Rd. eastbound, to Washington, to I-10/KATY FREEWAY; southbound traffic will exit to Old Katy Rd. eastbound, to Washington, to IH 1-10/KATY FREEWAY.
CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES
. One outside lane of westbound I-10/KATY FREEWAY from WASHINGTON AVE/WESTCOTT ST to I-610 WEST LOOP, and the entrance ramp from WASHINGTON/WESTCOTT will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM, Monday, March 5 and Tuesday, March 6. Detour to T.C. Jester and u-turn to I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound.

A Glimpse At Next Weekend's Work...
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the eastbound and westbound mainlanes of I-10/KATY FREEWAY between ELDRIDGE and SH-6 beginning 9 PM Friday, March 9 to 5 AM Monday, March 12. Traffic will be detoured via the eastbound and westbound frontage roads.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road between ELDRIDGE and SH-6 will be closed overnight from 9 PM Monday, March 12 to 5 AM Tuesday, March 13. Residents needing to access Blackhaw and Redhaw streets will be provided access by traffic control officers.
