Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, June 1, 2007.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road right turn only lanes at SH-6 will be closed beginning 9 PM, Friday, June 1 to 5 AM, Monday, June 4. Motorists will still have access to southbound SH-6 via the right turn optional lane.
. There will be alternating lane closures on the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between west of SH-6 and ELDRIDGE daily beginning Monday, June 4 until Friday, June 8 from 9 AM to 3 PM as contractors prepare for the upcoming traffic switch to the new I-10 eastbound frontage road pavement.
CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
. The left lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road east and west of KIRKWOOD will be closed Friday, June 1 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound exit ramp to DAIRY ASHFORD will be closed overnight from 9 PM, Friday, June 1 to 6 AM, Saturday, June 2. Detour to the Kirkwood exit.
. The left lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road west of KIRKWOOD will be closed overnight from 9 PM, Friday, June 1 to 6 AM, Saturday, June 2.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. The BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound frontage road between QUEENSBURY and I-10/KATY FREEWAY and the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road flyover bridge will be closed overnight from 10 PM, Friday, June 1 to 5 AM, Saturday, June 2. Detour to Queensbury eastbound to Town and Country eastbound to Attingham northbound to I-10 eastbound.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between BELTWAY 8-WEST and TOWN AND COUNTRY LANE will be closed daily from 5 AM to 8 PM, Saturday, June 2 and Sunday June 3. Eastbound traffic will detour south on the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road to Kimberley, u-turn and detour to Queensbury eastbound to Town and Country eastbound to Attingham northbound to I-10 eastbound.
. The BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound frontage road between QUEENSBURY and I-10/KATY FREEWAY and the Beltway 8-West northbound frontage road flyover bridge will be closed daily from 5 AM to 8 PM, Saturday, June 2 and Sunday June 3. Detour to Queensbury eastbound to Town and Country eastbound to Attingham northbound to I-10 eastbound.
. The BELTWAY 8-WEST southbound frontage road flyover bridge will be closed daily, Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3 from 5 AM to 8 PM.
. The BELTWAY 8-WEST southbound frontage road between WESTVIEW and I-10/KATY FREEWAY and the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road flyover bridge will be closed nightly Monday, June 4 until Thursday, June 7 from 10 PM to 5 AM.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a total closure of GESSNER northbound and southbound at I-10/KATY FREEWAY overnight from 9 PM, Friday, June 1 to 5 AM, Saturday, June 2. Northbound detour to the eastbound frontage road to Bunker Hill, go through the intersection to the westbound frontage road to Gessner; southbound detour to the westbound frontage road to Wilcrest, u-turn to the I-10 eastbound mainlanes and exit Gessner.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-610/WEST LOOP southbound mainlanes at POST OAK nightly, Tuesday, June 5 and Wednesday, June 6, from 9 PM to 5 AM. Traffic will be directed to take the Post Oak exit to the southbound frontage road and re-enter the I-610 southbound mainlanes at Woodway.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound direct connectors to I-610/WEST LOOP southbound will be closed nightly, Tuesday, June 5 and Wednesday, June 6, from 9 PM to 5 AM. Detour to 18th STREET and u-turn to I-610 southbound.
CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES
. There will be alternating lane closures on westbound I-10/KATY FREEWAY from WASHINGTON AVE/WESTCOTT ST to I-610/WEST LOOP from 9 PM, Friday, June 1 to 5 AM, Saturday, June 2.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound entrance ramp from WASHINGTON will be closed overnight from 9 PM, Friday, June 1 to 5 AM, Saturday, June 2.
. One outside lane of westbound I-10/KATY FREEWAY at TAYLOR ST and the exit ramp to TAYLOR will be closed on Friday, June 1 from 2 AM to 5:00 AM.
