Upcoming Katy Freeway Program Closures |

Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, June 8, 2007.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. There will be alternating lane closures on the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between west of SH-6 and ELDRIDGE on Tuesday, June 12 from 9 AM to 3 PM, as contractors switch traffic to new pavement.
. On Tuesday, June 12, the I-10 eastbound entrance ramp from SH-6 will move further east. Motorists traveling in the area will now have access to the I-10 eastbound mainlanes without going through the signalized intersection at Eldridge.
. There will be alternating lane closures on the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between west of SH-6 and ELDRIDGE daily until Friday, June 15 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
. One outside lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road at DAIRY ASHFORD RD will be closed on Thursday, June 7 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
. The inside lane of northbound and southbound KIRKWOOD at the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road will be closed on Thursday, June 7 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
. There will be alternating lane closures on the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between west of KIRKWOOD and WILCREST on Friday, June 8 from 9 PM to 8 AM, as contractors switch traffic to new pavement. The I-10 eastbound entrance ramp from and exit ramp to Kirkwood will be closed during this time.
. The intersection of THREADNEEDLE and the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road will close on Saturday, June 9 for two months as roadway contractors begin construction of the south side of the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound Entrance Ramp from KIRKWOOD and exit ramp to KIRKWOOD will be closed alternately on Friday, June 8 from 7:00 AM to noon. Detour to the next ramps.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be nightly total closures of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes and HOV lane between WILCREST and GESSNER, and the I-10 eastbound entrance ramp from Beltway 8 Friday, June 8 to Sunday, June 10 from 10 PM to 5 AM. Detour to the Beltway 8 exit, remain on the I-10 eastbound frontage road, go through the signalized intersection and re-enter the main lanes at the next ramp.
. There will be nightly total closures of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector to BELTWAY 8-WEST southbound Friday, June 8 to Sunday, June 10 from 10 PM to 5 AM. Detour via the Wilcrest exit and u-turn to the I -10 eastbound frontage road to access Beltway 8 southbound from the southbound frontage road.
. There will be a total closures of the Beltway 8-WEST southbound flyover and southbound frontage road at I-10/KATY FREEWAY Friday, June 8 from 9 PM to noon, Saturday, June 9. Detour to Westview westbound to Brittmoore southbound to I-10 westbound.
There will be daily total closures of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between Beltway 8 and Town & Country Blvd. Saturday, June 9 and Sunday June 10 from 5 AM to 8 PM.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound lanes of GESSNER at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 9 PM Friday, June 8 to 9 AM Sunday, June 10. Northbound traffic should detour to the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road to CONRAD SAUER turn right at WESTVIEW to Gessner.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound lanes of BUNKER HILL at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 9 PM Saturday, June 9 to 5 AM Sunday, June 10. Northbound traffic should detour to the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road to BLALOCK turn left on to the westbound frontage road to access Bunker Hill. Southbound traffic should detour to the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road to GESSNER turn left on to the eastbound frontage road to access Bunker Hill.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound lanes of BLALOCK at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 9 PM Wednesday, June 13 to 5 AM Thursday, June 14. Northbound traffic should detour to the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road to CAMPBELL turn left on to the westbound frontage road to access Blalock. Southbound traffic should detour to the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road to BUNKER HILL turn left on to the eastbound frontage road to access Bunker Hill.
CONTRACT F (I-10/I-610 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. One outside lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound from I-610 WEST LOOP to WASHINGTON AVE/WESTCOTT ST will be closed overnight from 9 PM, Thursday, June 7 to 5 AM, Friday, June 8.
CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES
. One outside lane of eastbound I-10/KATY FREEWAY from I-610/WEST LOOP to WASHINGTON AVE/WESTCOTT ST will be closed nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM, Monday, June 11 until Thursday, June 14.
