Balfour Beatty Captures Maximum Incentive for Early Opening of
New Westbound Dairy Ashford Exit Ramp
“Ramp Opens for Friday Morning Traffic”
(Houston, Texas) – On July 8th, as part of construction activities associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program, the I-10/Katy Freeway westbound exit ramp to Dairy Ashford was closed. This closure marked the beginning of the next incentive-based milestone for Balfour Beatty Construction and involved the construction and opening of the new Dairy Ashford exit ramp within 30 days.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is pleased to announce that the contractor is ready to open the ramp to traffic more than a week ahead of schedule. The ramp is expected to be open for early morning traffic on Friday, July 27. As a result of the early completion of this milestone, Balfour Beatty has secured the maximum incentive, $50,000 ($5,000 a day with a 10 day maximum), proving once again construction incentives work well to motivate contractors to accelerate construction.
