Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, August 3, 2007.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. Two lanes of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between SH-6 and ELDRIDGE will be closed beginning 8 PM, Friday, August 3 until 5 AM, Saturday, August 4 as contractors transition the existing I-10 eastbound mainlane traffic onto new pavement.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound entrance ramp from PARK TEN will be closed effective 9 PM, Friday, August 3 until further notice. Motorists will now access I-10 eastbound via the entrance ramp from SH-6.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound exit ramp to ELDRIDGE will be closed beginning 9 PM, Friday, August 3 until 5 AM, Monday, August 6.
. There will be alternating lanes closed on the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between SH-6 and ELDRIDGE beginning 5 AM, Saturday, August 4 until 5 AM, Sunday, August 5.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound SH-6 at I-10/KATY FREEWAY overnight beginning 10 PM, Saturday August 4 until 6 AM, Sunday, August 5. Northbound traffic will detour east on the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Eldridge, u-turn to the I-10 westbound frontage road to access SH-6, southbound traffic will detour west on the I-10 westbound frontage road to Park Ten, u-turn to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to access SH-6.
CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
. There will be alternating lanes closed on northbound and southbound DAIRY ASHFORD at I-10/KATY FREEWAY on Saturday, August 4 from 7 AM to 3 PM as traffic is switched to new pavement.
. There will be alternating lanes closed on northbound and southbound KIRKWOOD at I-10/KATY FREEWAY on Sunday, August 5 from 7 AM to 3 PM as traffic is switched to new pavement.
. There will be a alternating lanes closed on northbound and southbound KIRKWOOD at I-10/KATY FREEWAY on Monday, August 6 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
. The left lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road between KIRKWOOD and DAIRY ASHFORD, will be closed on Monday, August 6 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes between WILCREST and GESSNER beginning 5 AM, Saturday, August 4 until 5 AM, Monday, August 6. Traffic will detour at the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 eastbound frontage road and re-enter the I-10 eastbound mainlanes just west of Gessner.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramp to southbound BELTWAY 8-WEST from 5 AM, Saturday, August 4 until 5 AM, Monday, August 6. Southbound traffic should take the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 westbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound frontage road between QUEENSBURY and I-10/KATY FREEWAY and the Beltway 8-West northbound frontage road flyover bridge from 5 AM, Saturday, August 4 until 5 AM, Monday, August 6. Traffic will detour east on Queensbury to Town and Country, north on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST southbound frontage road at I-10/KATY FREEWAY from 5 AM, Saturday, August 4 until 5 AM, Monday, August 6. Southbound traffic will detour to the Beltway 8-West southbound frontage road flyover bridge.
. There will be nightly alternate lane closures on the BELTWAY 8-WEST southbound mainlanes from Westview over to Memorial from 10 PM to 5 AM, Monday, August 6 – Tuesday, August 7.
. There will be nightly alternate lane closures on the BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound mainlanes from Memorial to Westview from 10 PM to 5 AM on Wednesday, August 8 – Thursday, August 9.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound BLALOCK/ECHO LANE north of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road from 9 PM, Friday, August 3 until 6 PM, Sunday, August 5. Northbound traffic will detour east on the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Campbell, go through the intersection to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Blalock; southbound traffic will detour west on Westview, south on Bunker Hill to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, to Echo.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound ANTOINE at I-10/KATY FREEWAY on Saturday, August 4 from 7 AM to 9 PM. Northbound traffic will detour east on the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Silber, go through the intersection to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Antoine; southbound traffic will detour west on the I-10 westbound frontage road, south on Chimney Rock/Wirt to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, to Antoine.
. The left lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes from just west of CHIMNEY ROCK to ANTOINE and the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound entrance ramp from CHIMNEY ROCK will be closed Saturday, August 4 from 7 AM to 9 PM.
. One inside lane of northbound CHIMNEY ROCK between the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road and HICKORY SHADOWS will be closed until 6 PM, Sunday, August 5.
. The right turn lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road at CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT will be closed until 5 AM, Monday, August 6.
CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES
. The outside of the lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY will be closed between I-610/WEST LOOP to WASHINGTON AVE/WESTCOTT ST. nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM from Monday, August 6 to Thursday, August 9.
