FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ...
Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, August 24, 2007.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. One outside lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound mainlanes at DAIRY ASHFORD will be closed Sunday, August 26 from 5 AM to 10 AM.
. There will be alternating lane closures of northbound and southbound ELDRIDGE at I-10/KATY FREEWAY Sunday, August 26 from 5 AM to 10 AM.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound to westbound U-turn at ELDRIDGE will be closed Sunday, August 26 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound to eastbound U-turn at ELDRIDGE will be closed Monday, August 27 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
. The right lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound mainlanes between KIRKWOOD and DAIRY ASHFORD will be closed Saturday, August 25 from 5 AM to 11 AM.
. One inside and one shoulder lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound mainlanes between WILCREST and ELDRIDGE will be closed Saturday, August 25 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
. The right lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between DAIRY ASHFORD and KIRKWOOD will be closed on Saturday, August 25 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
. Northbound and southbound lanes of TULLY at the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road are closed until further notice. Traffic should detour south on Dairy Ashford to Fern and turn left to access Tully north- and southbound.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound exit ramp to DAIRY ASHFORD beginning 9 PM, Thursday, August 30 until further notice. Motorists should exit at Eldridge or take the Kirkwood exit and U-turn.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound mainlanes between just west of GESSNER and WILCREST beginning 5 AM, Saturday, August 25 until 5 AM, Monday, August 27. Traffic will detour at the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 westbound frontage road and re-enter the I-10 westbound mainlanes just east of Wilcrest.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramps to northbound and southbound BELTWAY 8-WEST beginning 5 AM, Saturday, August 25 until 5 AM, Monday, August 27. Northbound traffic will exit at the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 westbound frontage road to the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road; Southbound traffic will exit at the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 westbound frontage road, U-turn at Wilcrest to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST southbound frontage road between WESTVIEW and I-10/KATY FREEWAY and the Beltway 8-West southbound frontage road flyover bridge beginning 5 AM, Saturday, August 25 until 5 AM, Monday, August 27. Traffic will detour west on Westview to Brittmoore, south on Brittmoore to the I-10 westbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound frontage road at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 5 AM, Saturday, August 25 until 5 AM, Monday, August 27. Northbound traffic will detour to the Beltway 8-West northbound frontage road flyover bridge.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound exit ramp to WILCREST will be closed Monday, August 27 thru Friday, August 31 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound exit ramp to BLALOCK/ECHO LANE will be closed Saturday, August 25 from 6 AM to 6 PM. Motorists should use the Gessner/Bunker Hill exit.
