FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ...
Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, August 31, 2007.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. The eastbound and westbound lanes of GRISBY at SH-6 will be closed Saturday, September 1 from 9 AM to 3 PM. Detour to Ft. Smith Street.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound mainlanes between just west of GESSNER and WILCREST beginning 5 AM, Saturday, September 1 until 5 AM, Monday, September 3. Traffic will detour at the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 westbound frontage road and re-enter the I-10 westbound mainlanes just east of Wilcrest.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramps to northbound and southbound BELTWAY 8-WEST beginning 5 AM, Saturday, September 1 until 5 AM, Monday, September 3. Northbound traffic will exit at the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 westbound frontage road to the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road; Southbound traffic will exit at the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 westbound frontage road, U-turn at Wilcrest to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between BELTWAY 8 and ATTINGHAM on Saturday, September 1 from 5 AM to NOON. Traffic will detour to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road to Kimberley, U-turn to the northbound Beltway 8 frontage raod, travel eastbound on Queensbury, eastbound on Town and Country Way and northbound on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound frontage road between QUEENSBURY and I-10/KATY FREEWAY Saturday, September 1 from 5 AM to NOON. Traffic will detour east on Queensbury to Town and Country Way, and north on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound frontage road at I-10/KATY FREEWAY and the northbound frontage road flyover bridge beginning 4:30 AM, Saturday, September 1 until 5 AM, Monday, September 3. Traffic will detour east on Queensbury to Town and Country Way, and north on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST southbound frontage road between WESTVIEW and I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 4:30 AM, Saturday, September 1 until 5 AM, Monday, September 1. Southbound traffic will detour via the southbound frontage road flyover bridge. Westbound traffic will detour west on Westview to Brittmoore, south on Brittmoore to the I-10 westbound frontage road.
