Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, September 28, 2007.
CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES CONTRACT
. The right lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road west of KIRKWOOD will be closed Monday, October 1 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between WILCREST and TOWN & COUNTRY BLVD beginning 9 PM, Friday, September 28 until 5 AM, Monday, October 1.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 northbound frontage road between QUEENSBURY and I-10/KATY FREEWAY and the northbound Beltway 8 frontage road flyover bridge beginning 9 PM, Friday, September 28 until 5 AM, Monday, October 1.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 southbound frontage road at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 9 PM, Friday, September 28 until 5 AM, Monday, October 1.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be alternating lane closures on the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between BINGLE/VOSS and CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT ROAD beginning 9 AM, Friday, September 21 until further notice.
CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES)
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound mainlanes from I-610/WEST LOOP to east of WASHINGTON AVE from 9 PM, Friday, September 28 to 5 AM, Monday, October 1. Westbound traffic is encouraged to detour via I-45 North in the downtown area to access the I-610/North Loop to access the I-610/West Loop southbound direct connector to I-10 westbound. Alternatively, local westbound traffic will be detoured to exit at Washington Ave to make a right and continue to Old Katy Road to access the I-10 westbound frontage road. Eastbound traffic will be detoured to the I-610/West Loop northbound direct connector ramp to continue to I-610/North Loop to I-45 southbound to access I-10 eastbound. Alternatively, eastbound traffic may detour via the I-610/West Loop southbound direct connector ramp to I-610/West Loop to continue south to US-59 northbound to I-45 northbound to access I-10 east.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramps to I-610/West Loop from 9 PM, Friday, September 28 until 5 AM, Monday, October 1. Traffic will exit to Washington Ave, make a right and continue to Old Katy Road and make a left onto the frontage road of I-610/West Loop northbound to access I-610/West Loop northbound or southbound.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-610/West Loop northbound direct connector to I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound starting 9 PM, Friday, September 28 until 5 AM Monday, October 1. Traffic will continue northbound to I-610/North Loop, to I-45/North Freeway southbound, to access I-10 eastbound.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-610/West Loop southbound direct connector to I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound starting 9 PM Friday, September 28 until 5 AM Monday, October 1. Traffic will be detoured to exit at Old Katy Road, make a left on Old Katy Road to Washington to access I-10 eastbound.

A Glimpse At Next Weekend's Work...
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. The BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound will close 10 PM, Friday, October 5 for the duration of 90 days. Westbound traffic will detour to the Hammerly exit (tolls will be waived), U-turn to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road to the I-10 westbound frontage road, and access the I-10 westbound mainlanes via the entrance ramp from Wilcrest.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound and southbound mainlanes at I-10/KATY FREEWAY. More details regarding closure duration and detours will be announced next week.
