SUBSCRIBER NOTIFICATION - TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10 WB to B8 CONNECTOR TONIGHT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE...
Beginning 10 PM, tonight, Tuesday, November 6, the I-10/Katy Freeway westbound direct connector ramp to Beltway 8 southbound will close until 5 AM, Monday, November 12. TxDOT's contractor, Williams Brothers, is currently constructing the support column for the new Beltway 8 northbound direct connector ramp to I-10 westbound. The column cap will be constructed and placed this week requiring the ramp to be closed to ensure worker as well as motorist safety. Motorists will have two options to access Beltway 8 southbound from I-10 westbound (1) Detour via the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 westbound frontage road, and make a left to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road or (2) Take the Beltway 8 northbound direct connector ramp and exit Hammerly, and U-turn to re-enter the Beltway 8 southbound mainlanes. Tolls will be waived at the Beltway 8 northbound exit ramp to Hammerly.
