Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, November 16, 2007.
CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES CONTRACT
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound to westbound U-turn at KIRKWOOD RD. will be closed overnight from 7 PM, Friday, November 16 to 5 AM, Saturday, November 17 as well as from 7 AM to 3 PM on Tuesday, November 20. Detour to the intersection.
. There will be alternate lane closures on the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage Road between WILCREST DR and ELDRIDGE PARKWAY overnight from 9 PM, Friday, November 16 to 5 AM, Saturday, November 17.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of BELTWAY 8 southbound between WESTVIEW and I-10/KATY FREEWAY and the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road flyover bridge overnight beginning 10 PM, Friday, November 16 until 5 AM, Saturday, November 17. Detour via the Westview exit to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between the entrance ramp from WILCREST and BELTWAY 8 beginning 9 PM, Friday, November 16 until 5 AM, Monday, November 19. Detour to the I-10 eastbound mainlanes. Apartment complex access in the area will be maintained.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 northbound frontage road between QUEENSBURY and I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 9 PM, Friday, November 16 until 5 AM, Monday, November 19 and nightly from 10 PM to 5 AM, Monday, November 19 and Tuesday, November 20. Detour right at Queensbury to Town and Country Way, left on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 southbound direct connector to I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound from 7 AM to 5 PM Saturday, November 17 and Sunday, November 18 and nightly from 10 PM to 5 AM, Monday, November 19 and Tuesday, November 20. Detour at Westview to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road, U-turn at Kimberley to the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road, turn right at Queensbury to Town and Country Way, left on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound between WILCREST and GESSNER including the HOV LANE and the WILCREST entrance ramp nightly Monday, November 19 and Tuesday, November 20 from 10 PM to 5 AM. Detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road between WESTVIEW and I-10/KATY FREEWAY nightly beginning Monday, November 19 to Tuesday, November 20 from 10 PM to 5 AM. Detour right on Westview to make a left on Brittmoore to the I-10 westbound frontage road.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramp to Beltway 8 northbound and southbound nightly Monday, November 19 and Tuesday, November 20 from 10 PM to 5 AM. Motorists destined to Beltway 8 northbound detour to the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 westbound frontage road to the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road. Motorists destined to Beltway 8 southbound detour to the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 westbound frontage road, and make a left to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of BELTWAY 8 northbound at MEMORIAL overnight beginning 10 PM, Tuesday, November 20 until 5 AM, Wednesday, November 21. Detour via the Boheme and Memorial exits to the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound BLALOCK/ECHO LANE at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 9 PM, Friday, November 16 until 5 AM, Monday, November 19. Northbound traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, turn left at the intersection at Campbell to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Blalock. Southbound traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road, turn left at the intersection at Bunker Hill to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Echo Lane.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound exit ramp to BLALOCK/ECHO LANE from 9 PM, Friday, November 16 until 5 AM, Monday, November 19. Traffic will detour to the Campbell exit ramp and follow the detours listed above to access northbound and southbound Blalock/Echo Lane.
• One inside lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road will be closed from east of BUNKER HILL to east of BLALOCK/ECHO LN, including the exit ramp to BLALOCK/ECHO LANE beginning 9 PM, Friday, November 16 until 5 AM, Monday, November 19.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound INTERNATIONAL BLVD. at the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road from 1 PM, Friday, November 16 until 6 PM, Sunday, November 18. Traffic will detour south on International Blvd. to Memorial Drive and travel eastbound to Antoine, and turn left to access the I-10 eastbound frontage road. Apartment complex access in the area will be maintained.
CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound mainlanes between WASHINGTON AVE/WESTCOTT ST and I-610/WEST LOOP beginning 10 PM, Friday, November 16 until 5 AM, Monday, November 19. Westbound traffic will detour to exit at Washington Avenue northbound and continue to Old Katy Road to access the I-10 westbound frontage road and enter the I-10/Katy Freeway from Antoine. Eastbound traffic will detour to the I-610/West Loop southbound connector ramp to US 59/Southwest Freeway northbound to access I-10 eastbound.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramps to I-610/WEST LOOP starting 9 PM, Friday, November 16 until 5 AM, Monday, November 19. Traffic will exit at Washington Avenue, make a right and continue to Old Katy Road. Northbound traffic will make a right to enter I-610/West Loop northbound while southbound traffic will continue to N. Post Oak, make a left and enter I-610/West Loop southbound from Woodway.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-610/WEST LOOP northbound direct connector to I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound starting 9 PM, Friday, November 16 until 5 AM, Monday, November 19. Continue northbound on I-610/North Loop, to I-45/North Freeway southbound, to access I-10/East.
• There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-610/WEST LOOP southbound direct connector to I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound starting 9 PM, Friday, November 16 until 5 AM, Monday, November 19. Detour to exit at Old Katy Road, make a left on Old Katy Road to Washington to access I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound.
