Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Thursday, December 20, 2007.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. Contractors will be changing power sources at the intersection of I-10/KATY FREEWAY and SH-6 resulting in flashing signals beginning 9 PM, Thursday, December 20 until 1 AM, Friday, December 21. Officers will be on hand to direct traffic at this intersection during this time.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road between the GESSNER entrance ramp and the WILCREST exit ramp overnight beginning 9 PM, Thursday, December 20 until 5 AM, Friday, December 21. Traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound mainlanes via the Gessner entrance ramp and exit at Wilcrest.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST southbound frontage road between WESTVIEW and I-10/KATY FREEWAY overnight beginning 9 PM, Thursday, December 20 until 5 AM, Friday, December 21. Traffic will detour right on Westview to Brittmoore, left on Brittmoore to the I-10 westbound frontage road, U-turn at Wilcrest to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Beltway 8.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound overnight beginning 10 PM, Thursday, December 20 until 5 AM, Friday, December 21. Westbound traffic will detour to exit at Hammerly (tolls will be waived), U-turn to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road to the I-10 westbound frontage road, and access the I-10 westbound mainlanes via the entrance ramp from Wilcrest.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound exit ramp to BLALOCK/ECHO LANE from 9 PM, Friday December 21 until further notice. Traffic will exit at Campbell and take the I-10 westbound frontage road to Blalock/Echo Lane.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound exit ramp to BUNKER HILL from 9 PM, Friday, December 21 until further notice. Traffic will exit at Campbell and take the I-10 westbound frontage road to Bunker Hill.
. The right lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound mainlanes will be closed from CAMPBELL to west of BLALOCK/ECHO LANE from 9 PM, Friday, December 21 until 10 AM, Saturday, December 22.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound entrance ramp from BLALOCK/ECHO LANE, Saturday, December 22 from 7 AM to 7 PM.
. One alternate lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound frontage road between CAMPBELL and BUNKER HILL will be closed Saturday, December 22 from 7 AM to 7 PM.
. The left lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between BINGLE/VOSS RD. and CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT RD. will be closed daily Tuesday, December 26 through Saturday, December 29 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
. The left turn only lane of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road at SILBER will be closed from 9 AM, Tuesday, December 26 until 5 AM, Monday, December 31. Traffic will turn left from the center lane.

CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound SH-6 at I-10/KATY FREEWAY overnight beginning 9 PM, Friday, December 28 until 10 AM, Saturday, December 29. Northbound traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, U-turn at Eldridge to the I-10 westbound frontage road to SH-6. Southbound traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road, U-turn at Park Row to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to SH-6.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound direct connector ramp to BELTWAY 8 northbound beginning 10 PM, Saturday, January 5, 2008 until April 2008. I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound traffic destined to Beltway 8 northbound will exit at Wilcrest to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Beltway 8, make a left to the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road and enter the Beltway 8 mainlanes from Westview.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramp to Beltway 8 northbound beginning 10 PM, Saturday, January 5, 2008 until August 2008. I-10/Katy Freeway westbound traffic destined to Beltway 8 northbound will exit at the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Beltway 8, make a right on the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road and enter the Beltway 8 mainlanes from Westview.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT RD. at I-10/KATY FREEWAY on Saturday, December 29 from 6 AM to 6 PM. Northbound traffic will turn right on the I-10 eastbound frontage road and U-turn through the signalized intersection at Antoine to access the I-10 westbound frontage road to Wirt Rd. Southbound traffic will turn right on the I-10 westbound frontage road and U-turn at the signalized intersection at Bingle/Voss Rd. to access the I-10 westbound frontage to Chimney Rock.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound SILBER at I-10/KATY FREEWAY from 9 PM, Friday, December 28 to 5 AM, Monday, December 31. Northbound traffic will turn right on the I-10 eastbound frontage road and U-turn at N. Post Oak to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Silber. Southbound traffic will detour along the I-10 eastbound frontage road and U-turn through the signalized intersection at Antoine to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Silber.
