Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Thursday, December 27, 2007.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound SH-6 at I-10/KATY FREEWAY overnight beginning 9 PM, Friday, December 28 until 10 AM, Saturday, December 29. Northbound traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, U-turn at Eldridge to the I-10 westbound frontage road to SH-6. Southbound traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road, U-turn at Park Row to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to SH-6.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound direct connector ramp to I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound overnight beginning 10 PM, Thursday, December 27 until 5 AM, Friday, December 28. Westbound traffic will detour to exit at Hammerly (tolls will be waived), U-turn to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road to the I-10 westbound frontage road, and access the I-10 westbound mainlanes via the entrance ramp from Wilcrest.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound entrance ramp from GESSNER Saturday, December 29 from 6 AM to 12 PM. Detour to the next entrance ramp west of Beltway 8.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound direct connector ramp to BELTWAY 8 northbound beginning 10 PM, Friday, January 4, 2008 until April 2008. I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound traffic destined to Beltway 8 northbound will exit at Wilcrest to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to Beltway 8, make a left to the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road and enter the Beltway 8 mainlanes just north of Westview.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramp to Beltway 8 northbound beginning 10 PM, Friday, January 4, 2008 until August 2008. I-10/Katy Freeway westbound traffic destined to Beltway 8 northbound will exit at the Beltway 8 frontage road exit to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Beltway 8, make a right on the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road and enter the Beltway 8 mainlanes just north of Westview.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT RD. at I-10/KATY FREEWAY. Northbound traffic will turn right on the I-10 eastbound frontage road and U-turn through the signalized intersection at Antoine to access the I-10 westbound frontage road to Wirt Rd. Southbound traffic will turn right on the I-10 westbound frontage road and U-turn at the signalized intersection at Bingle/Voss Rd. to access the I-10 westbound frontage to Chimney Rock.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound entrance ramp from Bingle and the exit ramp to Antoine on Saturday, December 29 from 6 AM to 6 PM. Detour to the next ramp.
