TOTAL CLOSURE OF I-10/KATY FREEWAY EASTBOUND &
MULTIPLE I-10/I-610 DIRECT CONNECTORS RAMPS
"Motorists Should Expect Delays When Traveling in the Area
(Houston) This weekend, starting 9 PM, Friday, February 22 until 12 PM, Sunday, February 24, the Texas Department of Transportation's contractor for the reconstruction of I-10/Katy Freeway just east of the West Loop will close I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound from I-610/West Loop to Washington Avenue and multiple direct connectors. The closures are needed to allow the contractor to restripe and shift eastbound mainlane traffic in the area. Due to the concurrently scheduled closures, mobility in the vicinity of the I-10/I-610 Interchange may be limited this weekend. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes to destinations in proximity to this area.
I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound will be detoured via the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound direct connector ramp to I-610/West Loop northbound to continue to I-610/North Loop, to I-45/North Freeway southbound, to access I-10/East. Alternately, I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound traffic may detour via the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound direct connect ramp to I-610/West Loop southbound to US 59/Southwest Freeway, and travel north to access I-10/East. Other associated closures are listed below:
The I-610/West Loop northbound direct connector to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound will be closed starting 9 PM Friday, February 22 until 12 PM, Sunday, February 24. Continue northbound to I-610/North Loop, to I-45/North Freeway southbound, to access I-10/East.
The I-610/West Loop southbound direct connector to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound will be closed starting 9 PM Friday, February 22 until 12 PM, Sunday, February 24. Detour to exit at Old Katy Road, make a left on Old Katy Road to Washington to access I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound.
The Silber Tunnel entrance ramp to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound will be closed starting 9 PM, Friday, February 22 until 12 PM, Sunday, February 24. Detour via the I-10 eastbound frontage road and turn left on North Post Oak, right on Old Katy Road and right on Washington to access I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound.
The Woodway entrance ramp to I-610/West Loop northbound to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound will be closed from 9 PM, February 22 until 12 PM, Sunday, February 24. Continue northbound on the I-610/West Loop frontage road and make a right on Memorial, turn left on Westcott to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound.
