TOTAL CLOSURE OF I-10/KATY FREEWAY EASTBOUND &
MULTIPLE I-10/I-610 DIRECT CONNECTOR RAMPS THIS SATURDAY
"Motorists Should Expect Delays When Traveling in the Area
(Houston) This Saturday, March 15, 2008 from 4 AM to 11:30 PM, the Texas Department of Transportation's contractor for the reconstruction of I-10/Katy Freeway just east of the West Loop will close I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound from I-610/West Loop to Washington Avenue as well as multiple direct connectors. The closures are needed to allow the contractor to demolish and remove the temporary railroad bridge over I-10. Due to the concurrently scheduled closures, movement in the vicinity of the
I-10/I-610 Interchange will be limited. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area or seek alternate routes to destinations in proximity to this area.
I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound will be detoured via the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound direct connector ramp to I-610/West Loop northbound to continue to I-610/North Loop and then to I-45/North Freeway southbound, to access I-10/East. Alternately, I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound traffic may detour via the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound direct connector ramp to I-610/West Loop southbound to US 59/Southwest Freeway, and travel north to access I-10/East. Other associated closures are listed below:
Two inside lanes of I-10/Katy Freeway westbound will be closed between Washington Avenue and I-610/West Loop Saturday, March 15 from 6 AM to NOON.
The I-610/West Loop northbound direct connector to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound will be closed Saturday, March 15 from 6 AM to 11:30 PM. Drivers should continue northbound to I-610/North Loop, to I-45/North Freeway southbound, to access I-10/East.
The I-610/West Loop southbound direct connector to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound will be closed Saturday, March 15 from 6 AM to 11:30 PM. Drivers should detour to exit at Old Katy Road, turn left on Old Katy Road and proceed to Washington to access I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound.
The Silber Tunnel entrance ramp to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound will be closed Saturday, March 15 from 6 AM to 11:30PM. Drivers should detour via the I-10 eastbound frontage road and turn left on North Post Oak, turn right on Old Katy Road and turn right on Washington to access I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound.
The Woodway entrance ramp to I-610/West Loop northbound to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound will be closed Saturday, March 15 from 6 AM to 11:30 PM. Continue northbound on the I-610/West Loop frontage road and turn right on Memorial and turn left on Westcott to I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound.
