LONG-TERM CLOSURE OF VOSS ROAD SOUTH OF I-10/KATY FREEWAY AT LAS ALAMEDAS WAY - Updated
Beginning 9 PM, Monday, March 24, the Texas Department of Transportation's contractor for the reconstruction of I-10/Katy Freeway between Beltway 8 and I-610/West Loop will close northbound and southbound Voss Road between the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound frontage road and Las Alamedas Way until 5 AM, Wednesday, April 23.
This long-term total closure was originally scheduled to begin March 8 and last for eight weeks. In an effort to minimize traffic impacts in the area, TxDOT worked with contractors and developed a four week construction schedule that could begin after the Spring Break vacation. This long-term closure is needed to allow the contractor space to install new storm sewer drains and reconstruct the roadway in the area.
Detour information is listed below:
• Northbound Bingle/Voss traffic will detour left on Las Alamedas Way, turn right at the stop sign onto the I-10 eastbound frontage road and turn left onto Bingle northbound.
• Southbound Bingle/Voss traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road to U-turn at the signalized intersection at Campbell to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, turn right on Las Alamedas Way and merge onto Voss Rd.
A map of the closures listed above and the designated detours can be viewed using the link http://www.katyfreeway.org/Bingle_Voss/Bingle_Voss0324.html.
