Below is an updated list of the scheduled closures associated with the Katy Freeway Reconstruction Program as of Friday, April 4, 2008.
CONTRACT C1 (SH 6 to east of ELDRIDGE) CLOSURES
. The inside lane of northbound and southbound SH-6 between MEMORIAL and PARK ROW will be closed daily beginning 9 AM, Monday, April 7 until Monday, May 5 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. The right lane of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound between GESSNER and BELTWAY 8 will be closed beginning 10 PM, Friday, April 4 until 5 AM, Saturday, April 5.
. Effective 10 PM, Sunday, April 6, the new I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramp to BELTWAY 8-WEST northbound will be open for service.
. The I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramp to BELTWAY 8-WEST southbound will be closed permanently for reconstruction beginning 10 PM, Sunday, April 6 until August 2008. I-10 westbound traffic destined to Beltway 8 southbound will detour via the new I-10 westbound direct connector ramp to Beltway 8 northbound, exit Hammerly and U-turn to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road and enter the Beltway 8 mainlanes via the entrance ramp from Hammerly.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound between GESSNER and WILCREST and the I-10 westbound entrance ramp from Gessner nightly Sunday, April 6 through Sunday, April 13 from 10 PM to 5 AM. Traffic will exit at Gessner to the I-10 westbound frontage road and re-enter the mainlanes via the I-10 westbound entrance ramp west of Beltway 8.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound between WILCREST and GESSNER and the I-10/HOV lane nightly Sunday, April 6 through Sunday, April 13 from 10 PM to 5 AM. Traffic will detour via the Beltway 8 exit ramp to the I-10 eastbound frontage road and re-enter the mainlanes via the I-10 eastbound entrance ramp west of Gessner.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 southbound frontage road between WESTVIEW and I-10/KATY FREEWAY nightly Sunday, April 6 through Sunday, April 13 from 9 PM to 5 AM. Detour to the Beltway 8 southbound frontage road flyover bridge or turn right on Westview and left on Brittmoore, to access the I-10 westbound frontage road.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the BELTWAY 8 northbound frontage road at QUEENSBURY nightly Sunday, April 6 through Sunday, April 13 from 9 PM to 5 AM. Detour right on Queensbury, turn left on Attingham to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, U-turn at Gessner to the I-10 westbound frontage road, and turn right onto the Beltway 8 northbound frontage road.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road between BENIGNUS and GESSNER from 9 PM, Friday, April 4 to 5 AM, Monday, April 7. Traffic will detour to the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound mainlanes to the Bunker Hill exit ramp, U-turn through the signalized intersection to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Gessner.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the Gessner exit from the Beltway 8 northbound to I-10 eastbound direct connector ramp beginning 9 PM, Friday, April 4 to 5 AM, Monday, April 7. Traffic will detour to I-10 eastbound, exit Bunker Hill and U-turn through the signalized intersection to the I-10 westbound frontage road to Gessner.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of FROSTWOOD at the I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound frontage road beginning 5 AM, Monday, April 7 until 9 PM, Tuesday, April 8. Traffic will detour to Kingsride and make a left on Gessner to I-10/Katy Freeway.
CONTRACT G (I-610 to west of WASHINGTON) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound beginning 9 PM, Friday, April 4 until 5 AM, Monday, April 7. Traffic will be detoured to exit at Washington Ave./Westcott St., turn right and continue to Old Katy Road to access the westbound frontage road and re-enter the I-10 westbound mainlanes after Antoine.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramp to I-610/WEST LOOP northbound beginning 9 PM, Friday, April 4 until 5 AM, Monday, April 7. Traffic will detour to Old Katy Road to the I-610 northbound frontage road to enter I-610 after 18th Street.
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of the I-10/KATY FREEWAY westbound direct connector ramp to I-610/WEST LOOP southbound beginning 9 PM, Friday, April 4 until 5 AM, Monday, April 7. Traffic will detour to Old Katy Road, turn left on North Post Oak to access the I-610/West Loop southbound frontage road and enter the I-610/West Loop mainlanes after Woodway.

CONTRACT C2 (DAIRY ASHFORD to east of KIRKWOOD) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound between DAIRY ASHFORD and KIRKWOOD beginning 10 PM, Saturday, April 12 until 5 AM, Sunday, April 13. Detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road.
CONTRACT D (I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of I-10/KATY FREEWAY eastbound and westbound between WILCREST and GESSNER nightly beginning Sunday, April 6 through Sunday, April 13 from 10 PM to 5 AM. Detour to the respective frontage roads.
CONTRACTS E1 & E2 (BETWEEN BELTWAY 8 and I-610) CLOSURES
. There will be a TOTAL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound CHIMNEY ROCK/WIRT ROAD at I-10/KATY FREEWAY beginning 5 AM, Saturday, April 12 until 6 PM, Sunday, April 13. Northbound traffic will detour to the I-10 eastbound frontage road, U-turn through the signalized intersection at Antoine to the I-10 westbound frontage to access Wirt Rd. Southbound traffic will detour to the I-10 westbound frontage road, U-turn at Bingle/Voss Road to the I-10 eastbound frontage road to access Chimney Rock.
